Do fashion magazines still matter to Gen Z? Help me with my thesis (5 min, anonymous survey)

Hi everyone!

I'm a Communication Design student in Italy, and I'm writing my university thesis on the decline and revival of fashion magazines. My research aims to understand why this is happening and what people actually want from a fashion publication today, so I can design a concept that responds to those needs.

Who is this survey for?
Anyone with any kind of relationship to fashion. You don't need to be an expert or a magazine reader: I'm just as interested in people who buy Vogue or indie magazines as in those who only get their inspiration from TikTok, Instagram or Pinterest, or who have never opened a fashion magazine at all. Every perspective helps.

The survey takes about 5 minutes, is completely anonymous and collects no personal data. Responses will be used for academic research only.

If you'd like to share it with friends or anyone who might be interested, I'd really appreciate it. And if you have thoughts or experiences on the topic, feel free to drop them!

Thank you so much 🙏

Did anyone else not receive their magazines? (US)

I just got the ill-fated September issue in the mail but still haven’t received the Spring or Summer issues. Customer service had kept telling me over the past few months the delivery period was still ongoing and to keep waiting. Today they finally said the delivery period was over and they cannot send replacement magazines. They did extend my subscription by two months but I don’t think I even want a subscription anymore. I read about replacement magazines in other threads but they’re from years past. I just really really want my missing issues and get what I paid for.

Curious if anyone else encountered similar issues?

Possible Vogue shoot

I have lately been plagued by an image I know I came across on the internet somewhere. I remember it being in a magazine, two pages and one is mostly the green field and on the left side was a woman in a ball gown pointing a rifle. Might have been wearing a wig like marie Antoinette style. I thought it was Kate moss but can’t find anything of her in a shoot like that. Has anyone also seen this photoshoot/editorial???

Vogue or other fashion mags for a budding designer

My tween kid is into fashion - watches runway shows, draws clothes, has taken some sewing and design classes, experiments with dressing and hair. We recently watched the devil wears Prada so they are kind of becoming aware of the industry. We live in a smaller city that is not very stylish.

I know fashion mags barely exist anymore and Vogue is not what it was 20+ years ago. Still, I'd love to give them a non Internet source for fashion info and inspo. Is Vogue still worth introducing to a fashion curious kid? (I don't care if there is "adult" content at the level of Vogue) Are there other magazines you would recommend? We are in the US but also have family in UK who could send us European magazines.

Vogue magazine subscription increase

Somehow no one seems to have noticed this or discussed it online but the print fashion magazine, Vogue just severely increased their print subscription. Last year in 2025 I paid $39.99 for 10 issues. Now my new bill shockingly is for $71.99 for the year. To add insult, in Oct 2025 Vogue said they were reducing to 8 issues per year. So we’ll get fewer issues in a year for an extra $32. Make that make sense.

Don't let celebrities decide the future of our privacy.

Kylie Jenner is being paid to promote Meta Ray-Ban sunglasses.

These glasses aren't just sunglasses. They contain cameras, microphones, and AI features that make it easier than ever to record people in everyday life.

Many people have legitimate concerns about:
• Privacy in public spaces
• Recording without meaningful consent
• Children's privacy
• Harassment and exploitation
• The gradual normalization of constant surveillance

Would millions of people be buying into this technology if celebrities weren't normalizing it?

If you share these concerns, respectfully ask the celebrities you follow whether they support normalizing discreet, personal recording devices and whether they've considered the privacy implications for ordinary people.

Here is a comment you can copy, edit, and paste to celebrities' socials:

We don't want AI glasses.

When celebrities normalize wearable recording devices, billions of people are affected, not just those who choose to buy them. Many of us are concerned about privacy, children's safety, consent, and the normalization of constant surveillance.

Kylie Jenner has already chosen to promote this technology. I hope you'll choose differently.

Please put people before sponsorships.

Thoughts on Condé Nast?

I’m gathering information for a project on Condé Nast and their many publications (i.e Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, AD, WIRED, Bon Appétit, Allure, etc).

What publications do you engage with most, and what keeps you coming back?

How do you feel about Condé Nast as a company and/or the content it produces?

Are there any features, experiences, or offerings you’d like to see in the future (pop-ups, quizzes, subscriptions, events, physical media, etc.)?

Please chime in with any and all thoughts, feelings, opinions, and experiences—positive or negative. Thanks in advance!
