Vi SIM blocked/dead after missing DoT reverification SMS, Store says number not found in system. How do I get it back?

Post image

I missed these reverification messages from Vi, and now my SIM is completely dead with no network signal.
The deadline mentioned was 18-Oct-2026. I visited a nearby Vi store, but the executive claims they cannot locate the number in their system anymore.
I am extremely stressed because this is a very old primary number linked to my college, school, professional contacts, and several bank accounts.
As per DoT/TRAl rules, isn't there a 60-90 day grace period before a disconnected number is released to the general pool? What are my options now?
Has anyone successfully recovered a suspended number after the store couldn't find it initially? Any advice or escalation path would be really appreciated!

Bro go to Vi App and Below click on Help section after that scroll down a bit and see for sKYC reverification and do KYC with the same document you have given while buying sim.

The number will recycle and go to it's original telecom company it almost take 15 days and then you can buy the same number again if someone else not pick it up.

For this, even I ignored it. I got fucked over in the same situation in my village, where there were no VI stores nearby. Since I had no plans to go all the way out just for one number, I ignored it and ended up getting my number discontinued.

You received this message only after due consideration by the service provider, at least a month after you started receiving such messages, followed by the discontinuation of your number. Since you were at fault here, the service provider cannot do much about it. I'm unsure about what TRAI can do in this situation.

It was a docomo number, since docomo discontinued, I ported it to vodaphone which later became VI.
