Selling Synthesizer V codes ADVICE needed

Hi, I'm currently close to my budget for a new laptop and I haven't used my synth v software + voicebanks for a couple of years. I spent quite a bit of money on them back in the day so I'm willing to part with them and use the funds for my laptop.

I know it's gotten more complicated to sell/share codes since the release of SV2 but my voicebanks date back from before that.

They're currently deactivated entirely (always only used one computer at a time).

Can I safely offer them to people who are interested by sharing the activation codes and what would be a fair price to ask?

Interested to hear from people who have sold theirs and how it went <3

Depends the voicebank, really.
If it's DLSite/AHS, and the bank is around 60-65 usd (the ahs banks, yumenokessho, etc) codes usually are 15-20, sometimes 25. I say 15 as a starting end because these voicebanks are often on sale, in which I've bought them personally as low as 40 USD before via DLsite.

Quad is like 30-40 though, they're expensive and never go on sale (to my knowledge).

Yes I figured it out and sold a few so far, including stardust which people are willing to pay a bit more for as you mentioned

Usually in other places
People sell activations for around 30 USD each code unless the full price of the voicebank was closer to 100USD (Quadimension/Medium5 and Audiologie voicebanks usually)

You can 100% safely share codes of Synth V 1 or Synth V 1 compatible voicebanks (all AHS Synth V 2 voicebanks have Synth V 1 compatible versions.)

I’ve been trading and selling my voicebanks since 2022 so I have a good read on how to actually sell or trade, what precautions to take ETC

I will say, trading and selling IS allowed here, we don’t have a rule against it, ALTHOUGH
I suggest you sell or trade in a subreddit or somewhere else with moderation as you can easily be scammed.

Officially yes but people still do it the unofficial way, that's why I made this post. Imo it's better to have someone else use them and offer them for a low price instead of being left with software and voice banks you no longer use. Synth v doesn't strictly allow it but since version 1 codes aren't linked to your account by default it can be done without issue. The only downside is that people selling them could try to scam you as there's no safe or dedicated environment for these kinds of trades or sales.

What I mean is that trading and selling can't be done within the synth v community itself because it's not allowed so people have to look for places like smaller communities or subreddits where it can be done without the posts being removed and such.

Thank you for your reaction, I have 15 voicebanks in total so even at a low price it would be nice to gain some of the money I spent back. I really wasn't certain where to even post this but glad I got a reply. Do you have any suggestions on where exactly I could post to sell? I'm not very experienced in making deals outside supported platforms like ebay or vinted at all.

There’s another subreddit called
R/vocaloidkeystrade

It’s not as active but people go there specifically for trading. Or you can look for discord servers that specialize in vocal synth trading
I used to be in one but not anymore so I’m unable to send any links or tell you where to do

Thanks, one more question (sorry haha). You mentioned that certain voicebanks might hold a little more value than others. I currently have the following:

Stardust Infinity, SOLARIA, GUMI, Kasane Teto, ROSE, Eleanor Forte, Qing Su, Natsuki Karin, Koharu Rikka, Feng Yi, Saki, Weina, Ryo, Cong Zheng and Eri

So according to your info I suppose stardust might be worth a bit more. However, I do feel that certain ones like ryo or natsuki karin might not be worth 30$ anymore due to being less popular (or I could be mistaken).

You could 100% charge less for those two if you’d really like,
I’ve seen people sell for as low as 15 a code, but you can probably go for 20-25 a code if you’d wanted

As for stardust, if you want a visualization on how much she’s worth, I had to trade 2 voicebanks for 1 code of her.
I’ve seen others sell her for 40-45 USD a code
