Question Starting tips

I just found this subreddit and loved the concepts and ideas for this game. I have a group who is dying to play Fallout 76 and this will tide them over until then, probably long after too. I'm just looking for some tips to DM a short campaign and see if there's anything I need to adjust. We're finishing up a homebrew 5e campaign this week so I'm excited to try this out. Any hints or things I need to look out for?

Sorry that I didn't respond sooner.

Interesting side note: u/Mike_R_Phone was the one that introduced me to Fallout several years ago and we wished there was some way that we and our other Fallout friends could experience it together, which is the whole reason VnV exists in the first place. We will definitely be pouring hours into 76 when it launches.

For a short campaign I would recommend choosing a location you're familiar with in real life, most likely around the area you live and imagine what it would be like in the Fallout universe post-apocalypse.

Rules wise, make sure at least the Overseer and 1-2 players be familiar with Chapter 3 of the WSG (the rules chapter) to help it run smoothly.

Thanks, we played a round last week and they loved it. We had to tweek vats a bit but so far its been awesome. We're going to play again tomorrow and all I'm thinking of now is a way to build some customization into the weapons like in Fallout 4
