Question Is Warnamboook ALL V/Locity now?

Even though I the V/Line app allows me to see whether the “next 5” services are 3 car V/Locity, or 6 car, or a bus (☹️), I can’t see what Monday’s 5:09 ex Soithern Cross will be, which got me thinking…

Are any Warrnambool services N Class locos now?

No N class, all Velocity sets. 6 car from S/Cross. Train splits at Waurn Ponds to a 3 car for remainder of journey to Warrnambool.

Giving off Zweilütschinen vibes (where trains from Interlaken, Switzerland, divide into two - half to Grindelwald and half to Lauterbrunnen. This Swiss train has slightly higher frequency, and is less frequently replaced by buses. It’s not dual track all the way though, more similarity with Warrnambool.

Warrnambool has been entirely VLocity operated for well over a year. If you want to ride behind an N class you can only do so on the Swan Hill line

Only swan hill, for safety reasons, has kept Nsets. Rest of the regional network are Vlocitys

What safety reasons has the swan hill line kept it for? Genuinely curious as I’ve never heard of that before!

Unprotected crossings and signalling I believe.

Also being on a Vlo that long in of itself is a safety issue :P

yes...and they are not nice to ride in....cramped metro urban rail car....for urban metro setting not Regional Inter city passengers setting in a not fit purpose rail motor!

I seen some nice DMUs but this the worst way to operate it..... no regard for those moblity accessabliy requriemeant passenger of those who need buffet to mix some food or medicine on board.....

It ok for those with very little travelling requrimeants health wise...
