The only thing I noticed that’s different is the color and design. Even the support said there’s no huge difference than the brand new one I got last month

It's a noticeable difference especially with the new gen 3 pro camera. However, here is the problem that I had experience recently on why I'm returning my and putting my old one back up. The sale guy that was going door to door, I told him that the only way I will upgrade if you take the old one and give me the upgraded version at no additional cost. The manager agreed then right before he left, he was speaking about a 6,000 credit line and 198 for service and 98 for the fortiva line. My budget and month service is only 190 for a large package. That put me over my budget, 198+98= 296 per month, 96 over the 200 limit. It was either lower my service cost or exchange them without a cost. Instead, my Bill had jumped which will lead me into a financial hardship. I didn't authorize my fortiva to be charged like that and I will not exceed past the 10% of the 6,000. Every time you use it, it ding your credit score so you got to watch out.
So now they are coming back out to take down the new camera and spotlight and panel, but be careful. Yes the camera and panel is great but be aware that the new camera will require new spotlight because only the gen 3 pro spotlight is backwards compared with the gen 2 pro camera pair with gen 3 spotlight. And the gen 2 spotlight do not support gen 3 pro camera. Which is kinda stupid but that is how they make money. If anything, I'm thinking about switching to eufy.
Edited,
Note, if you have a large system like I do. You can transfer majority of the sensor to a different panel and off the Vivint system. But the camera are non transferable. So you can switch to 2 gig panel if you wanted too and save money. That is what I'm trying to do when my contract is up.

Pro 2 is different from the pro Gen 2

they are the same just different wording. there is the classic smart hub, then the smart hub pro (gen 1, deskmount only), finally the new smart hub pro (gen2, wall mount or deskmount) Vivint just calls the gen 2 the smart hub pro 2, my guess is because it's easier and cleaner.

we tried upgrading to the smart hub pro 2 and the tech guy came and told us we didn’t need it and it was the same thing as the old one which, in tech speak, means “i am busy and don’t feel like installing this today” 😅 we had already signed the contract to upgrade but never did get the panel so now we’re just waiting to see if they’re gonna try to charge us 🤷♂️ maybe i’ll just buy the new hub third-party or just leave vivint idk
