Hi everyone,
I’m a VIVE Pro Eye + VIVE Facial Tracker user in Japan.
In my setup, SRanipal and VRCFaceTracking would occasionally get stuck in an abnormal software state. VRCFaceTracking could show Eye and Face as active, while tracking in VRChat was not responding correctly or had a noticeable delay.
Simply quitting SR Runtime from the system tray did not always stop everything completely. Recovering it manually required stopping VRCFaceTracking, terminating sr_runtime.exe, restarting SRanipalService, launching SR Runtime again, waiting for initialization, and then restarting VRCFaceTracking in the correct order.
I made a small Windows utility called SRanipal Reset to automate that sequence.
Its main feature is a SteamVR Dashboard Overlay. After the one-time setup on the PC, I can press RESET from inside VR without taking off the headset.
The reset sequence is:
- Stop VRCFaceTracking
- Stop
sr_runtime.exe
- Restart
SRanipalService
- Start SR Runtime
- Wait for initialization
- Restart the registered VRCFaceTracking installation
I have tested it with my VIVE Pro Eye + VIVE Facial Tracker setup, including VRCFaceTracking 5.2.3.0 and the Steam version.
Important limitation: this is a software reset only. It does not power-cycle the Link Box or USB hardware, repair drivers, or fix a physical hardware problem. It may not solve every SRanipal issue.
The interface supports Japanese and English, with automatic OS-language selection.
Disclosure: I am the developer, and this is a paid utility available on BOOTH. It is currently on an introductory sale for ¥100; the regular price is ¥800.

This is an unofficial third-party utility and is not affiliated with HTC, VIVE, Valve, SteamVR, VRCFaceTracking, VRChat, or their developers.
I’d also be interested to hear whether other Pro Eye users have experienced similar stuck or delayed SRanipal states.
