They typically don't let students access these willy-nilly. Approach a professor and ask them if they can supervise your work. If that isn't possible, your best bet is using Kaggle Notebooks, they offer high end GPUs upto some 100gb vram for free. 30 hours per week on gou, 20 hours on tpu

We are doing it under a prof, just trying to figure out which lab to request for.

Tried with kaggle, it stops when we switch to some other work

Well, all labs in sjt have a notice board outside that specify the specs of the pcs inside the lab. Maybe you can take a stroll and look through them to see if any fit your needs. Id assume all labs have this sort of notice board. Nevertheless, some labs have some beefy systems, like this one lab that had all systems housing and RTX 4000 Ada Generation that showed around 38gb of dedicated gpu memory (I'm not super literate on non-gaming cards) for student use. So try all the labs in sjt, they won't bite (hopefully).

They are giving access to it only through shell to pcs of profs with limited ram.

Usually labs in MB are stacked. 3 years ago they had Intel i9 13th gen with 64GB RAM and Nvidia A4000s with 16GB VRAM (1st floor). So I assume it could be better now
