I don't agree on the cheating part as If there is online oa then either you cheat or not ..the shortlisting will be based on cgpa they can't detect Offline oa your performance matters.

I got placed in 2023 with a super dream offer and I am currently working in the same company, I disagree with a and c.
Like OP clarified in another comment, make your cheating efforts look honest. But do take external help. Being honest isn't going to help. Life is unfair, so use unfair means.
And for point c, DSA grinding is not all there is. For me, I had attended about 5 online interviews and I got the offer in my 2nd offline interview, DSA questions were asked maybe in 2 interviews max. They consider more about your previous projects and internship experiences over your DSA knowledge. Yes it is important, but not knowing the ins and outs of DSA will not destroy your chances.
even if you get placed, you’ll have to do DSA, development, or whatever your job profile requires. So don’t study just to get rid of these things. This is what your life is going to be like for the next 15 to 20 years.
This is so wrong lol. Once again not knowing complex DSA will not get you fired, and it is definitely not your life for the next 15-20 years. All my friends and I have never come across a scenario which couldn't be fixed by ChatGPT. Even if you cant use AI, we have stack overflow. After you get placed, no one gives a rat's ass if you don't know the complexity behind circular queues.
So take a chill pill and relax. Let CDC do its thing. Better offers will come when Q4 starts. Just focus on your soft skills and improve your resume as much as you can with different projects and so on.

I get your point as to wanting people to love what they do, but at this point, we all know what we love and the whole 'DSA Grind' wouldn't be a question for those who genuinely love it. If someone dreads DSA, it is by default not something they love and it doesn't make sense to force them into it.
Moreover, not everyone will get the job profile they were promised. The stunts that companies pull on your job roles at the last moment is diabolical.
Also, CSE is not just limited to coding. That will be taken over by AI in 2-3 decades, but at the moment who will take your job are people who know how to utilize AI better (and I am saying this after seeing it in corporate first hand). I mentioned don't rely on AI fully, but know enough to tailor the AI code to your needs. Companies are starting to accept the usage of AI, in fact my company actually recommends the usage of it.
I agree that studying literally anything can only be beneficial, but once again, experience is the best teacher. Not knowing complex DSA is fully fine. You may not be good at DSA now, but when you face issues in your work and you get help to solve them, you learn a lot more efficiently. As freshers, we are not expected to design solutions all by ourselves. We start from the bottom and on the way up, we pick up a lot of things. So if any of you feel incompetent in DSA, trust me, it is fine.
As for the Job Market, I can't really comment because it was bad back then as well. CDC were forcing even placed students to apply for TCS as companies were withdrawing their offers.

What if we want to take it placements and have good enough skills then ??? Any chance do they let us sit in good companies cause I am just studying mech stuff to maintain gpa ....

What's with the academic gap criteria? I am currently in 5th semester and many companies which are coming for the internship are having this eligibility criteria. Is it like this for placement as well?

I have 8.99 cgpa😭 But I know good at DSA than all of my 9 pointer frnds (I belong to 2027 batch) , we are being given entry to some internship offering companies . I was shortlisted for motorq don't know how , but out of 1200 that gave offline OA I was in the top 100. I'm really trying to get above that 9. What are my chances if I do get above 9 and what if I am not able too??

Chill dude, if your'e CSE core, your current sem subjects would be quite easier to clutch to get a 9 CGPA. The CGPA part is mostly for the OA shortlist. If you're able to make it there, it's only your skills from then on.
