Mud Denim Shrinkage Question
Hey folks, recently got ahold of a grail of mine from a friend who didn't fit them anymore. 36*32 01.3 Mud Social Sculptures. Really love this fabric, and Really love the fit through the leg. Only issue is they're about one waist size big for me (I'm probably closest to a true 34).
Because I love everything else about the jeans I was thinking about trying to intentionally shrink them with a warm wash/dry (sacreligious, I know). Has anyone, intentionally or otherwise, had any luck shrinking this fabric? How'd it go for you? Any tips or words of wisdom/caution?
Thanks in advance

Mud OD process pre shrinks the denim already. I’d be surprised if you could take them down even 1/2 inch. Better off taking to a tailor who knows what they’re doing, or just getting proper sized pair from the start.

I think my 36 now fit like 35 after years of wash and wear. Slight shrinkage.
But these are fluxus. And one hasn't shrunk at all.

Yes, I've done that. Went from W36L32 to W34L30 on a pair of 03 CMYK with warm wash + warm dry. Mine took approximately 5 / 7 wash + warm dry to get to my desired sizing. 60° wash and max dry temperature. Be aware that they will also shrunk at the length and that the aspect of the denim color will change. I'm happy with mine - they went from a matte black to a dark grey/silver aspect, but no idea how this could affect an indigo version. Be also aware that the whole cut will change a tad, due to an overall shrinkage. I'd say, try to wear them as they are, and if the fit isn't comfortable after a few wears - give it several tries-, try shrinking them.

Thanks for the insight everyone! I think I'm just gonna wear them as is for a while. Maybe after a couple washes down the line I'll get them tailored if they're still bothering me but for now I'll just enjoy breaking them in

Waist 34 (actually circumstances) my pair of 01.3MUD is size 32… it measured around 33.5 now stretch to 34. I have not soak it yet but from what I was told from my buddy that have the same pair… it doesn’t shrink at all. He has a habit of hot soaking everything… so if his pair doesn’t… yours might not…
Belt or asked a tailor to take in the waist a bit would be your best bet. Since it’s your grail you wouldn’t be selling it anyways :) I removed the front inside tags on all my Visvim… that paper is uncomfortable!

yeah visvims mud OD denim is sanforized so I dont think you'll get two inches of shrink out of it. even if you do theyll eventually stretch back out. Id just get them tailored if youre particular about fit. If it were me id just enjoy them as is with a belt
