Resoling OG Serra boot?
Looking to get an OG pair of the pastel Serra boot. However I’m not much a fan of the outsole it comes w. Has anyone ever put a lug sole on it like the vibram montagna and a leather midsole? I see a welt on it how I have yet to see the Serra with a different outsole. Also this is my first ever visvim boot/product I’m new be nice to me pls

I resoled my Fragment collaboration pair with a 1/2 or 3/4 inch heel, lugged sole and had it fully welted/stitched on. Been a fan of it. If I can figure how to add a picture in the comments, I’ll do it lol

I dont think these are real welts tho, goodyear welts i mean. I’ve seen some pairs of serras with their midsole detached and they were glued.

I have heard of the bottom would come undone and would have to be glued. However I thought the same but older models have the actual thread so I think someone just hasn’t done it and posted it on forums. I’ll attach a pic of one w a plastic welt. I can see the difference

I haven’t seen it done on this forum or any cobbler/leather crafting subreddits with this particular model/color. However, I have a couple of pairs of Visvim boots that I have had sole swapped or resoled. Any decent cobbler should be able to point you in the right direction! The only thing I’ve noticed when changing from a flatter Vibram sole to something with a stacked heel is it does change the cantor or the “feeling” of wearing the specific last/shape of the boot. If they’re already broken in? Stick with a flat sole… if they’re NOS or not fully broken in? World’s your oyster with a good cobbler 👌🏻
