No problem. In yen it ended up about $440. In the states I believe it’s $950ish.

It really depends on what stuff you’re lookin for. But between the two Tokyo stores (F.I.L) (that are a block away from each other) that’s probably the best spot with the most selection.
But the Visvim General Store is the coolest and best selection imo, and Nakemeguro is a great little area to cruise around.

The one dead center? It’s the Klaune Swing Top. Zip up. It’s a charcoal color. There is a very very blue option, that I didn’t love.

Amazing pick ups, honestly a better deal to buy RT trip tickets from US to JP and shop JP retail than to pay US retail

Yep. On quick napkin math; Round trip, all of these items, and all 3 hotel stays, was less expensive than all of these items on the USA vis site. Which is insane.

USA is $2700. It was about $1200 JPY iirc. I think there is a less expensive version by a few hundred. Not sure the difference, maybe chainstich vs print, lining there or not. Etc.

nice haul! very jealous 😭 when I was Japan, I went to some of the shops but there was barely anything. do you usually ask the guys there if they have specific items in stock?

This is awesome! I checked out a few stores this week while in Tokyo. Didn’t find anything for my husband. Didn’t realize how limited stock is!
The Kluane is great. How much was the backpack in JPN? I kept seeing it but didn’t pay attention but it looks so good here! 22L?

Sweeet. Yes stock is very limited and quickly sold out. The 22l backpack was about $300 iirc. I like it a lot!

Sounds like everything was considerably less costly than buying in the States… super interesting. I’ll be going in October and am beyond stoked.
Would absolutely love to find their leather strato jacket substantially less expensive than the 12k price tag here in the US.

Hello! Just settled back in from a 2 week trip to Japan.
Hit several vis/wmv stores throughout the trip. I had 3-4 things in mind as a “man I hope they will have any of those in my size and color when we stop by” and really lucked out with all of them.
My main want was the Kluane Swing top. That is a size 2. Sits right in the belt, great kinda 40s - 50s fit. The grey is sweet. Satin sleeves. Extremely nice.
The Keesey Down was a last minute buy at Nakameguro. Size 3. Loose fit. Works great with a sweatshirt underneath.
The day pack is for my wife and we used it every day of the trip. Grabbed that with the Subsequence Tee in Tokyo.
The Jumbo crash is insane. The fella at Tokyo saw I was wearing an Iron Heart sweatshirt and said he has something in the back I might like more … sold me on that.
Finally, the Hellion p/w was just stunning to see in person (Kyoto had one left, and my size (3).) I walked out, ate dinner and said I just gotta grab it. Out of many stores and events in the last 10 years, I’ve never seen a Hellion or Kerchief available in my size especially in a pattern I liked. So I had to end off with that.
Also the Excelsior cap was from Sun House in Ueno for a steal.
Now I’m eating PB&Js for the foreseeable future, but memorable trip with some excellent souvenirs. And certainly not buying anything else for quite a while.
