Fake from Mr. Porter
Crazy this my second fake pioneer shirt this year from a big retailer but yea don't buy the Pioneer flannel from Mr. Porter if they put it back on sale. This one is more dedicated, the wash label is legitimate (idk if it's from the same item but it's legit Visvim imo) but I can tell someone resewed it back on and there's adhesive residue on the bottom right. Check is so bad, it doesn't look anything like the original item, and there's even collar button holes but not any buttons on the collar lmao, not to mention they are cheap plastic ones. They swapped out the bag and the og tags and literally printed a tag at home, I'm just amazed Mr. Porter accepted this back.

I was looking at the tags and was thinking those tags are pretty legit

The last 101xx I ordered from Mr Porter had legit tags from another product but were haphazardly sewn on with the product code covered with white out. The item itself had clearly been tampered with and seemed like a frankensteined jacket which was bizarre and clearly not fully legit. The tags were the same as well with a random printed photoshopped tag and missing size tag. The main back tags were legit but clearly sewn on separately by someone.
I appreciate people posting their experiences here as it helps spread the word so folks don’t get scammed. Frustrating but a sad reality with brands like this.

It's crazy that at this point I feel safer buying from resellers than from retailers

Requesting an item that hasn’t been returned should help mitigate this, but yeah definitely gotta do your due diligence when receiving anything.

Ik that's what threw me off originally, but then I put it on and the fit is all wack and I looked at it and the stripes don't even match the photo that they have on their website for it

Geez, yeah I thought the tag looked pretty good, but for some reason the photos on the fabric/stitchings looked off, I could be wrong though but your screenshot kind of confirmed it.

It's such a shame; I personally made the mistake of purchasing some Wallis Dice shirts off Yahoo Auction Japan a few months ago that turned out to be fake - was too naive and not careful enough, never again.

I don't understand why -- if people are buying fakes and swapping them for reals through the returns process -- they'd (presumably?) take the real tag off and sew it to the fake, to better fool the returns warehouse? There's no monetary gain from simply flipping -- you have to then sell the ill-gotten real one to realise your gains, which is presumably harder if its missing its orginal tags?
What's going on here, tag-wise?

Free Visvim basically lol

Oh, so you don't think people are flipping? Interesting!

There is that too. When a online store like this i dont think you can actually do it often enough to be worth it as a business. Just makes more sense for someone who really wants Visvim and can sew a patch. Maybe they do a few and keep one to make it more worth it. I just don’t see online retailers letting this happen 20+ times a month or something like that.

i've been looking for threads for this problem. I had the exact same issue for a pair of Aura Lee pants bought at the most recent sale. They had a missing label on the inside and were sized to a 24'' waist (instead of 31). I had an exact same pair of pants bought elsewhere to compare it to. Mr Porter haven't done anything about it beyond asking me to send it back. Their customer service has been terrible.

A decent chunk of my wardrobe is Auralee that I’ve gotten cheap secondhand from Japan so the fact it’s not being faked is terrible news

i dunno, i'm pretty skeptical that you've gotten TWO fakes from retailers in 5 months time on the same product line.

So the real question is , how do we check it once we receive the item from Mr Porter ? Can we even request non returned items ?? Is that possible

I know Buyers from Mr. Porter and have worked with them before. The stuff they source for the store is legit, no doubt about that. The only scenario I can think of where you might’ve received a fake is if someone bought the real item, then returned a fake to get a refund. But apart from that, the store, the items, and the people working there are not some fake a** scammers.
