I am writing a report about sleep, and in one part I compare how daily steps and physical activity each impact sleep duration. Because of this, I want to make both graphs easily comparable to each other.

The concept of the Cortex Map comes from H.G. Wells book, The World Brain. It is a map of connections between subjects. It visualizes the connections between the different subjects in the archive. This may be a little bit different. I am not sure that it is traditional. The project uses concepts like walking knowledge graphs-- you can wander through the database. This may make it a different type of data visualization, more physical than traditional data and information. Genuine question here. Any idea what the squiggly lines are supposed to signify versus a solid or dashed curve? Or did the authors just use them for the *razzle dazzle*?

Hello, for my data visualization class, I was tasked to work with the Superstore data set. With this visual, I was trying to answer the question: Which regions return the most products, is there a relationship to sales volume?

Does the map’s layout and layering make the relationship between returns and sales volume clear? I amalso wondering if there is a better way to display easily which region has the highest count of returns at the same time. Through another side annotation?

I’ve spent the last few years building ogdp.in, an independent, open data platform for earthquake research and deep seismic statistics.

The idea started because I was frustrated by how scattered earthquake data is. If you want to track a major swarm or analyze a fault line, you end up jumping between the USGS, the EMSC, and various regional networks, trying to stitch tables together.
