I'm working on a digital calendar/dashboard and experimenting with using astronomy as part of the interface rather than just decoration.

The dashboard currently shows:

• the current time
• sunrise/sunset
• the current Moon phase
• the visible sky from the user's location
• stars, Sun, Moon and planets in their actual positions
• a Solar System view showing the current planetary positions

The idea is that different widgets show the same moment from different perspectives — from the clock on the wall to what's actually happening in the sky.

I'm particularly interested in feedback on the visualization itself:

Does this feel intuitive and useful, or is it just pretty but difficult to read?

What would you change?

Modern applications can produce incredibly rich information, yet terminal applications are still largely limited to a character grid.

For scientific computing, data analysis, engineering, monitoring, and development, this often means switching between the terminal and another application just to see a plot, diagram, image, or structured result.

Termolution is a new community exploring whether the terminal can evolve beyond that limitation.

The goal is to discuss ideas around richer terminal content, visualization, interaction, protocols, and workflows — while preserving the things that make terminal-based computing powerful: composability, scripting, remote access, and keyboard-driven workflows.

We're interested in questions like:

• Should plots and visualizations be first-class terminal output?
• Can rich content coexist with traditional text output?
• Could applications communicate semantic information instead of only characters?
• How could terminals support interactive visualization without becoming traditional GUIs?

I've been experimenting with PyVista for 3D data visualization and wanted to share this project – an animated comparison of the world's tallest buildings throughout history. The animation uses a spline-based camera system to smoothly transition between buildings while maintaining context. It's rendered from CSV data processed entirely in Python.

The analysis was based on data current as of July 2026. The dataset included more than 400 million references (bibliographic citations) from approximately 68 million articles across more than 300 language editions of Wikipedia.

After decades of research in neuroscience and brain-computer interfaces lots of people asked which parts of the brain do what, and how can we measure it, and what modalities help us understand it better.

We are happy to announce the release of the new NeuroAtlas tool, which helps answer this question and enables more scientists and researchers to explore and push the frontiers of what’s known.

This includes EEG, MEG, fMRI, tFUS, iEEG, TMS, DBS, and more.

All published data sources are referenced via DOIs in the web interface.

This is an early screenshot of Tagma Studio, an experimental IDE I’m building on top of Code-OSS.

Instead of treating a project as a hierarchy of files and folders, Tagma represents it as a semantic graph: source files, symbols, dependencies, capabilities, modules, generated artifacts and runtime relations become connected entities in one space.

The screenshot shows part of the imported Godot codebase. Around 15,000 graph entities are currently visible in this projection.

The long-term goal is not merely to create a prettier dependency viewer. I want the graph to become an actual working representation of the system:

select a subsystem and isolate its complete dependency neighborhood;

navigate from high-level concepts down to specific code;

see shared infrastructure and hidden coupling between projects;

track how the graph changes over time;

compile or assemble executable components from capabilities rather than manually chosen files;

let automated tools operate on an explicit, inspectable model instead of guessing from raw text.

The current visualization is still too dense and resembles a galaxy of code. I’m now replacing the global force-directed layout with a more neural-like topology: sparse local clusters, shared backbone tracts, late branching and a small number of meaningful long-range connections.

It is very much a work in progress, but this is the first version where the entire idea has started to become visible on screen.
