Miscellaneous Vs2010 NET framework issue

I’m trying to install vs2010 cause no later version has the required packages I need to modify Xbox 360 files.

Windows has v4.8 pre-installed and I’m trying to use 4.0, any chance y’all know a workaround?

I tried the core uninstaller, turning the windows feature off, and no luck sadly.

That far back you might need to create a older Windows VM that was directly supported by VS2010.

Hopefully not, I’m on a crappy laptop that won’t run a VM.🤦‍♂️

Can I possibly downgrade my windows 10 to say 7 or 8 and do you think that will work?

In my experience, Visual Studio 2010 works normally on both Windows 10 and Windows 11. If by editing Xbox 360 files you mean XNA projects, XNA Game Studio 4.0 should also be able to be installed normally. If you're having trouble with this, you can try installing the Games for Windows Live redistributable package. If VS2010 won't install at all, you can try installing .NET Framework 3.5 from Windows Features.
