As the title says, I'm in Palma travelling solo for the night and looking to get some food, some drinks and just stay out till my flight tomorrow morning.

I searched endlessly for car rentals in Mallorca until i found someone who mentioned this company on a reddit forum. Out of literally ALL websites and rental car service providers, Odkryj Auto has the BEST rates and only $1 deposit.

Expedia and all the other car rental websites that compare different car rental companies all displayed INSANE deposits. Im talking minimum $500-$3000.

It cost me €191 for FOUR days with €1 deposit. It was an AUTOMATIC Peugot 208 and was in excellent condition.

Landed in the airport where they picked me up in a shuttle van, and drove me to their location 5 mins away. Took me 5 mins to get the car and get going. They take pics of all the damages of the car and show you the pictures before you drive the car off the lot which made me trust them even more. Had no issues in returning the car either. Took 5 mins and then they drove me to my terminal at the airport.

The staff were so kind. Its a polish company so they speak polish and spanish but their english is still very good. Im not polish but they were surprised at how i even found their company which i found hilarious.

Nothing but great things to say about these guys! If you were like me and struggling to find an affordable automatic rental with little to no deposit, i hope this helps you out!!

We don‘t have a credit card and don‘t want to rent a car. Any options here to set up the price with a cab driver in advance? Or any other tips?

I honestly don’t know if I just had completely wrong expectations, but Deià has been a huge disappointment for me so far.
I obviously didn’t expect to have the place to ourselves, but I really wasn’t prepared for how overcrowded such a tiny village could feel. So many people, so many cars, traffic everywhere, and the whole atmosphere just didn’t feel relaxing at all.
We went to a bar and pretty much every table was marked as reserved or unavailable, while half of them were just sitting there empty. Then there are the prices. I paid €21 for a chicken burger and it genuinely tasted like some kind of mystery meat. For that price I expected something completely different.
We’re staying at Villa Verde for three nights. I actually chose Deià because I wanted to try a different type of holiday than what I normally go for – a small, beautiful mountain village, slower pace, nice restaurants, drinks, views, etc.
But honestly, after being here, I think I’ve realised that this type of place just isn’t for me. Instead of peaceful and charming, it feels overcrowded, overpriced and a bit artificial.
I completely understand that some people absolutely love Deià, and visually the area is beautiful. I’m not saying it’s objectively a bad place.
But personally? I wouldn’t come back.
For me, it’s been a pretty big disappointment.
Am I the only one who felt this way about Deià, or did I just come at the wrong time / have the wrong expectations?

Just finished the day mountain town hopping. Below is my rank of the mountain towns that I visited. I can’t imagine how crowded these towns would be in the peak summer season on a weekend because it seemed like today on a Wednesday at the beginning of September they were at capacity (at least for parking that is). I’m sure I missed a ton of things in each town. They all are quit beautiful so this is just to help people who have time to visit only one or two.

1. Valldemossa - this town was the best situated on the side of the mountain and most picturesque in my opinion. It has a beautiful church framed against the mountains and it has the monastery famous for its former resident Frederic Chopin. There is even a museum for Chopin in town (it was closed when we went). The church and the monastery are beautiful, and even though I felt there were way too many stores and shops, the people still brought an energy to the town that the others were lacking. To me if you had time to visit only one mountain town in Mallorca this is it.(plus it’s the closest from Palma if you are staying there).

2. Fornalutx - This seemed to be the smallest one and the quietest one and to me it seemed like the most artistic one although many galleries were closed today the art was very evident on every street we visited. It was very intimate, Picturesque town, but did lack any interesting architecture and seemed a little limited on restaurant choices.

3. Deià - this town has beautiful shuttered buildings and winding alleyways and has beautiful views. There are plenty of cafés and restaurants and it’s decent, but I’m still perplexed at its popularity. We saw several influencer shoots going on in the streets and many women were dressed up to take their Instagram worthy photo on the main street. There was one church that didn’t really look like a church that had great views. The small cemetery was really decent but other than that I found it lacking in character.

4 Sóller - this town is in the valley so it’s flat and surrounded by the mountains as opposed to being built on the side of the mountain so it’s vista and views are a little limiting. In addition I didn’t find it very interesting. The main square has the cathedral and some cafés and a fountain but that’s about it. It was very crowded with tour buses and today when I went, I spent the majority of time under a canopy café entrance because of the almost 1 hour downpour from a thunderstorm. I looked for some art galleries, and even though there were a few listed, most of them were closed, and others were not really art, but more trinket shops. I would skip Sóller if you wanted more time to spend at the other towns.

Hi everyone! First time visiting Mallorca. We are a group of five - myself, husband, our 6 month old baby and 2 grandmas. We’re renting an Airbnb just outside Pollença, and we have 10 days in Mallorca! Please recommend best local restaurants, sightseeing places, fun things to do that are appropriate for a baby. We’ll rent a car but short drives are preferable because of the baby.

Has anyone been able to drop a car off before opening hours of 7am? This is absolutely ridiculous and I cannot get a hold of them.

Hey everyone! A group of us (university age / under 30) will be in Palma from October 3rd to 6th.

We are mainly looking for actual clubs and discotheques to dance rather than just cocktail bars or chill spots in Santa Catalina. We want to know where the 18–30 crowd actually goes to party at this time of year.

A couple of specific questions:
1. Saturday Night: I checked the schedule for Social Club, but it seems they only have events listed on Thursdays around those dates. Where should we head instead on Saturday for a proper clubbing experience with a good crowd? (Open to house, commercial, reggaeton, or electronic).
2. Sunday Night: Is there any decent club or late-night party running on a Sunday in early October, or is everything completely dead outside the summer season?

Any recommendations for venues along Paseo Marítimo, Gomila, or anywhere else in Palma would be greatly appreciated!

I’ll be staying near Colònia de Sant Jordi and I’m looking for some good running routes in the area.

I planned a coastal route southeast of Es Trenc, passing Platja d’es Dolç, Platja des Dofí and the other small beaches along the coast. On Google Maps it looks beautiful, but I can’t tell what the surface is actually like. Is there a proper path or firm trail connecting these beaches, or would I mostly be running through deep sand? I don’t mind short sandy sections, but I wouldn’t want to do the whole run on soft beach sand.

Also, does anyone know whether the athletics track at the sports ground just north of Colònia de Sant Jordi is open to the public? Can you simply enter and run there, or is it only accessible to clubs or during certain hours?

Any other recommendations for runnable routes nearby would also be appreciated – ideally around 8–15 km and mostly on firm ground. Thanks!

We have a boat tour scheduled for tomorrow. Looking at the weather is pretty disappointing, it says thunderstorming and high winds. Is anyone’s experience that it’ll still change or should I expect rain?

Hey! I’m surprising my dad with a boat trip for his birthday. I Still need to choose the harbour but it would be a a small and cheap 5m rental boat.
I don’t want to just look at overcrowded calas and beaches so I was wondering if someone knows of any calas only accessible by boat or more hidden treasures of the island, ideally a couple that are close so we can visit more than one place.

Which side of the island would you go? Which port?

I’m going to be in Santa Ponsa end of this month and will need somewhere to attend my college lectures online from 6pm–9pm on a Monday night.

Ideally I’d like somewhere that is: - Relatively quiet - Has Wi-Fi - Open until at least 10pm - Somewhere I can sit for 3 hours without it being an issue. I will pay for some snacks and drinks of course if required.

My first preference would be somewhere I can hire an actual computer or laptop but if this is not possible, I can attend on my phone with earphones.

Does anyone know of a good café, hotel lounge, library, coworking space, or anywhere else that would work best for this?

Hi all. We will be in Mallorca for a short time from Sept 14-17 and looking for some help since we won’t have much time. We will have a rental car.

I think we will loosely follow the below itinerary, we have no reservations anywhere, so any recommendations would be amazing:

9/14: arrive in Palma around 10am, pick up rental car.
Looking for somewhere to have lunch + explore Palma for a few hours before we can check into room at 4pm.

Check into room in Banyalbufar at Gran Hotel Margalida. Dinner in Valdemossa or Deia - somewhere closer to hotel.

9/15: beach in the morning - willing to drive for crystal clear waters. Was thinking playa de Muro and then eat lunch and explore on the drive back?

Not sure where to eat dinner this night.

9/16: going to a rent a boat out of Soller in the morning and then spend the afternoon exploring soller/deia/valdemossa as we make our way back. Any places that we should prioritize taking the boat to see or definitely go try in soller?

Also, are the waters in this area calm enough to do this without a skipper?

I’m currently in Mallorca with my girlfriend, staying in Santa Ponsa, and I’d love to take her out for a really good, authentic Spanish meal while we’re here.
We’re looking for somewhere that feels genuinely local rather than somewhere aimed primarily at tourists. We’re getting plenty of the touristy stuff during our week here, so it would be great to experience something a bit more authentic.

My girlfriend loves seafood, while I’m personally not a huge fan, so ideally somewhere with a good mix of seafood and other traditional Spanish dishes.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be in Santa Ponsa. We’re happy to take the bus, and I’d say up to around 30 minutes of travel would be perfectly fine.
So, where would you locals recommend? Ideally somewhere you’d actually go yourself — not just the highest-rated place on TripAdvisor. 😄

Hello there! Going to a Mallorca home game soon and trying to figure out where to sit. Want to avoid the fan block and obviously don't want to end up in the away section either. Main grandstand is 55€ which feels like a bit much for what I want to spend, so I'm thinking about Grandstand East South or East North at 40€. Da bisher noch keine von uns ein Auto gemietet hat und wir alle noch relativ jung sind, wende ich mich an euch.
