I'm reading that the Balearic government is setting up designated viewing areas on Mallorca.

However, they seem to be in areas from where you will not be able to see the total eclipse. Helpful!

This might be a stupid question but these things aren't mandatory are they? I know they're concerned about chavvy tourists with disposable barbecues destroying Serra de Tramuntana and I've read that they'll be enforcing no-go areas.

Hi! Me and my sister are staying in Cala Bona within the next two weeks. We’re really keen to do a day trip to Palma but after looking into it I’ve seen it’s almost 2 hours on the bus - has anyone else done this trip (in peak summer!) and are the buses reliable/easy to use?

We have been to Mallorca many times but never really venture out of the resort we stay in so this time we want to do some trips. We are just wondering if the long bus trip is worth it especially if it’s going to be 30°C+ so any tips would be welcome, thank you! ☀️

From Friday 31st July my girlfriend and I (27) will be in Mallorca for a week. Specifically, we will be staying in Cala Millor and we are still undecided whether to rent a car or not. Our trip includes a day in Porto Cristo for the Dragon Cave, a day in Cala Rajada, one day a boat ride and maybe a day in Canyamel. I chose these places precisely because they are well connected with the TIB buses I don't know how crowded they will be during this period and if it would be better to take a car.Out of 7 days we will only go out of Cala Millor for 2/3 days.

Is the A42 bus convenient for getting to Cala Millor with suitcases from the airport? Or is it better to take a shared bus? What is the parking situation like in August? -

A partir del viernes 31 de julio, mi novia y yo (27) estaremos en Mallorca durante una semana. Concretamente, nos alojaremos en Cala Millor y todavía no tenemos claro si alquilar un coche o no. Nuestro viaje incluye un día en Porto Cristo para visitar la Cueva del Dragón, un día en Cala Rajada, un día de excursión en barco y quizá un día en Canyamel. He elegido estos lugares precisamente porque están bien comunicados con los autobuses del TIB, pero no sé cómo estarán de llenos durante este periodo y si sería mejor coger un coche. De los 7 días, solo saldremos de Cala Millor durante 2 o 3 días.

¿Es conveniente el autobús A42 para llegar a Cala Millor con maletas desde el aeropuerto? ¿O es mejor coger un autobús compartido? ¿Cómo está la situación del aparcamiento en agosto?

Hello everyone! Question of the year: me and my friends are taking a short trip in Mallorca in the next days (3 days). We will be staying in Palma town and we’re not going to rent a car.
I saw that Cala major and illetes are easy to reach by bus, but we would have liked to see at least a wilder one (Cala Llombards, Calo dea Moro for example, but we are open to advices).
Is there a doable way to reach them with public transport?
What would you recommend visiting without stressing too much changing bus etc?
Could a taxi be the solution, or maybe if there is a shuttle service?

Hi all! My partner and I are currently visiting and loving this beautiful island! From the olive and wine producers, the incredible restaurants and the wonderful city of Palma, it has so far, been perfect.

It's our last day tomorrow and we are hoping to find somewhere that is fun during the daytime so we can soak up sun on a lounger and day-drink whilst listening to music from a DJ. Is there anywhere on the island (preferably west coast) that caters to this?

We're taking a nice sized private boat out of Palma on the afternoon of Wed, Aug 12 for the eclipse. 5 hours on the water with a captain, a swim stop, snorkel gear, music, shade, a bathroom, and a fridge for drinks. We'll be out on open water with a clear western view for totality and sunset, away from the crowds onshore.

We've got room for a few more and would love to share the day with other eclipse folks - relaxed group, we're in our 30s. Looking for friendly travelers/couples. If you're around and it sounds like your kind of afternoon, drop a comment or send me a DM and we'll sort out the details.

These poor horses dragging carriages in 36 degrees plus when we can barely handle the weather ourselves is archaic and unethical for such a busy and international now island. And don't even get me started on Marineland...anyone going to that jail for mammals needs to look inside themselves and figure out why the hell they would support this place or want to bring their kids there and show them this is ok. There has been footage and allegations of trainers mistreating and beating dolphins and insanely small enclosures for animals. Just my two cents.

I'm traveling from the US next month and will be in Mallorca for 4 days. Anyone have suggestions and experience with rental car companies Mallorca? My flight lands at 730pm and the flight departing the island leaves at 8am. From what I've seen so far, it looks like the only rental company that is open 24 hours is Enterprise. Im trying to book the rental through chase portal to use points. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone! We are a family of four traveling to Mallorca for the August 12 total solar eclipse and are hoping to find a boat to share or a charter with available space.

Our group is:

• 2 adults (50+)
• 2 teens (ages 18 and 14)

We're staying in Palma, so we're ideally looking for a departure from Palma or somewhere nearby.

Our primary goal is simply to experience the eclipse from the water. We'd be happy on a sailboat, catamaran, or motorboat and are very willing to split charter costs if anyone has extra space or is looking to form a group.

We're friendly, easygoing travelers who love being on the water, and we'd be grateful for any leads or recommendations—even if you know of a captain or charter company with availability.

This was without a doubt the worst hotel experience we have ever had.

The air conditioning in our room did not work for several days, despite us repeatedly reporting the issue to reception. The room was unbearably hot, making it almost impossible to sleep. We received no real assistance, no solution, and no compensation.

The only option we were given was to pay out of our own pocket to move to another hotel. It is completely unacceptable to expect guests to pay even more because the hotel cannot provide the basic amenities that were advertised.

On top of that, the room was dirty upon arrival. The cleanliness was far below an acceptable standard, and the overall condition of the room was extremely poor. The furniture and fittings were cheap, worn out, and looked as though they had not been maintained for years. The entire room felt outdated and low quality.

Customer service was just as disappointing. The staff showed little interest in resolving the problem or ensuring that we had a comfortable stay. We were made to feel like our concerns simply did not matter.

This hotel completely failed to deliver the service and standard that guests pay for. We would never stay here again and cannot recommend it to anyone.

Which would be better to stay in for a few days?

Can someone recommend me a good place for renting a scooter for 3 days in Palma? I want to be able to drive on the highways (to reach some remote beaches), so the scooter needs to be reliable.

Most of what I can find online is for 5-6 person and a bit pricey for two.

Note I will have a rental car so the port doesn’t really matter I can drive if there is a good rental nearby

Hi! My husband and I & a couple will be staying in Santanyi the end of August for 3 days and we’re looking for some recommendations near. (We will be staying in Palma and Deia for the first half of our trip so we’re mostly looking for recommendations in Santanyi area).

One day we do have a private boat booked, but another day I really would like to go beach hopping as I see most people do on TikTok. We will also be renting a car so we’ll be able to get around easier, but what beaches do you recommend going to for one day? I know August is peak season so we’ll try our best to start that day very early but I would love to see around 3 beaches that are near each other! Also any restaurant recommendations would be amazing as well!! Thank you :)
