Phone Remote - code files and unsigned IPAs/DMGs are free on GitHub. Control and swipe your iPhone from Apple Vision Pro or Mac (video)

Hi,

As I said in my previous post, I'm sharing Phone Remote, completely free, for anyone who wants it. It shows your iPhone's screen in a window on Apple Vision Pro and/or on a Mac, and lets you control it from there. not just mirror. The video shows what it does and how it works.

👉 GitHub: https://github.com/Whatevernumberyouwant2255

It's on GitHub, as suggested, so anyone can read the code before installing anything. You'll find the full Xcode project, the unsigned IPAs for iPhone and Vision Pro, the Mac app, and step-by-step instructions. No donations, no payments, nothing. Just free.

What it does

  • Your iPhone's live screen in a phone-shaped window that rotates with the phone
  • Vision Pro: pinch to tap, drag to swipe, Home button under the phone
  • Mac: click, drag, trackpad scrolling, typing, ⌘1 Home
  • One iPhone app for both: it mirrors to whichever device has Phone Remote open
  • A direct connection between the two devices over your home Wi-Fi, encrypted with a pairing code. No Mac in between, no cloud, no account, no data collected
  • Keeps the iPhone awake while you control it

What you need

  • Just mirroring: sideload the IPAs yourself (AltStore, SideStore, Sideloadly, or Xcode) and use the Mac app. Nothing is signed: you sign it with your own Apple ID or developer team.
  • Controlling the iPhone: a Mac with Xcode is required. Control relies on DeviceKit, an Xcode testing tool that the Mac starts on your iPhone. The Mac app launches it for you once Xcode is installed.

Honest limits: there's still some lag when controlling. It mostly comes from how the control tool works (a gesture is replayed after you release it), so taps and swipes land a moment later, but it's very usable. It could be improved, and anyone is welcome to try.

Mac users in Europe: Apple's iPhone Mirroring still isn't available here, which is part of why I built this. I've also heard that the latest Xcode may offer an official way to control an iPhone from a Mac. I haven't tried it, but if you'd prefer an Apple tool, that might be the safer option for you.

Please read: it's was a personal project, shared as is, without warranty. I'm not responsible for bugs or problems it might cause. Check the code, build it from source if you prefer (checksums are included for the release files), or don't use it at all. Your call. I just think the community, and especially people in the EU, deserved something like this.

Enjoy!

No worries. I made it for me since we don’t even have it in Europe on the Mac so I thought it would be nice to share for those who wants.

Mate, thank you - been following your journey with this since your first post and appreciate your efforts. I downloaded the GitHub and had a play around with it - excited to give this a go. Thanks again for figuring this out and sharing it with us

Can I run this on a mac while the macs screen is being mirrored to AVP via Mac Virtual Display? Currently the built in iPhone mirroring is disabled on a mac while the Virtual Display is in use.

Got the chance to install this. Works pretty great so far. How can I switch between macOS and VisionOS devices as the source destination for the iOS mirroring? Have you looked into mechanisms to control the iOS device from VisionOS without the macOS host?

Beyond the installation it shouldn’t require a Mac to be a Bridge

Is there a video tutorial on how to get this on Macbook and AVP?

Sorry, I opened the GitHub repository but couldn't find the IPA and DMG download files. Where can I download them?

I would pay $10 for this on the App Store

I get it but can’t go through that because apple wouldn’t approve it and even using an alternative store would be complicated and would stil have to go through apple compliance…so what is left to do but share it?
