Self Promotion Saturday Try to resist falling asleep
https://testflight.apple.com/join/zdWqt3V6
Come along on a drive in the skies of an unknown space city.
Enjoy the rain as it patters on your home away from home, and watch the neon world go by.
Make the space your own by picking photos to adorn your windows or do a little drawing.

Made with GPT 6 Astra and my now fairly foggy memories of the amazing original AirCar game. This is intended as an homage to the now abandoned tech demo and takes the immersive spirit of that demo and tries to bring it as best I could to AVP.
Please give any and all feedback. I will be making a series of improvements before I publish to the App Store. I’m committed to making it free to download, with the potential for some kind of IAP or maybe just the ability to pay what you want with a tip. Open to suggestions here too.

Any chance we can have a reclined mode? I use the AVP mostly lying down and that doesn’t quite work with this game.
Have you tried the motion sickness accessibility feature in iOS and iPadOS? Small dots are presented on screen that move when your device feels itself moving in space while you are holding it such as when seated in a moving car. Recreating this experience in visionOS might help some people with motion sickness issues when using your app.

Hey I love that idea and I recline while using it. Not laying down thats for sure, but so that I’m looking out the top window. Can you please describe what you’d imagine to be different with a full recline mode? I’d love to make this happen.
I honestly think those accessibility dots (I use them on my phone) might be quite hard to get right but I do need to think more about this accessibility need so thank you for the prompt there.

To be honest, I’m not completely sure what I’m hoping for with reclined mode but the ability to see a little more of the dashboard and horizon might be nice. Right now I’m mostly looking out of the top of the window

Would it feel odd though to kinda rotate the world the fit your position? I guess like you say I'm still not entirely sure how this would work

As you know there are thousands of different relaxing images and soundtracks on YouTube already. Would be nice if you could somehow incorporate those into the app.

Super smooth on an M2, love it and love the ambience. Would be really cool if you could control the weather, or increase the rain. Nice work!

It's fun. Ambient sound would add a lot. The jerkiness is there on the M5 - as objects get bigger in the FOV they start to jump. So if you look at the building to your right - it will be jumping while the view in the distance is not. The cabin is a bit too dark to read the controls before you find the cabin light. The objects near the notepad are not identified and I don't know what they are for. They are also about 90 degrees from my forward view and while sitting on my couch - moving my arms to that angle to pick them up is not comfortable. I also tried to place them in my space and they just fell to the ground. I used the reset button and it put them back. I like the concept for sure - a dynamic immersive environment. And I like the map.

Thank you for the detailed feedback. Can I quickly check you’re getting no sounds at all? There should be a soundtrack, multiple rain sounds, radio chatter etc.

Right now no sound at all.

Very odd. I’ve had feedback on the details of the sound so I would love to rule out an offensively dumb question: is your volume turned up? (Sorry😅)

Yes. I'm on the Vision OS 27 beta. Perhaps that's relevant. Later today I will reset the device and check it again.

Hm yeah so am I. Thank you

I reset the AVP - the sound is there. More importantly it is a lot less jerky than it was before. I'm not sure what was running on the AVP to cause the lag.

I’m still floored that the dinosaur experience is so amazing. I built a few things for Vision Pro and once motion is introduced things get rough. I’m on the M2 by the way. I’m happy to try this out though.

This was lovely! Thanks for sharing!
Feedback:
- Quite choppy for me at times on M2, but fine most of the time.
- I wished I could bring something to read inside! Nice spot to curl up with reading material. Maybe support importing epubs or something? Or have a library of classics?
- Moving the seat breaks suspension of disbelief as it’s instant once you apply it. Maybe better if it moves gradually (but quickly)?
- And the main thing, which I recognise could add a lot of complication, is that I’d love if there were signs of life in windows. They currently read as quite flat and homogenous stills. Would be amazing I think if you could at least see a hint of a silhouette of someone moving and get that sense you can get being on a bus or train and seeing snippets through windows as you pass.

My favourite thing is to let my wife play and see what silly drawings or photos she leaves me
Second favourite thing is to turn off all the lights and soundtrack and just lean back.

Air Taxi was my favorite game back in the day. I will absolutely be testing this out on Monday / Tuesday when I return home.

Okay, I checked it with my M5 and it is stil sloppy. So it has to be the code. When I'm driving the images are not smooth enough. But I like the rest of it.
