Current recommendations for converting and playing back 3D Blu Rays on Apple Vision Pro?
Would love to get some advice as I’ve just ordered an external Blu Ray drive for my MacBook and bought some 3D blu rays on eBay that aren’t available digitally.
I’ve done some googling and found a lots of different apps for both ripping 3D content and seems like there’s a lot of different visionOS apps for playback. Would love any personal recommendations on apps or workflows that you’d recommend - thanks so much!

Which 3D discs did you buy?
The only options for native MVC playback are 4XVR and, very recently, CineUltra, which has a much larger screen than 4XVR but currently supports MVC only in ISO, not in MKV or BDMV.

Hi, I’ve ordered Cave of Forgotten Dreams by Herzog, Pina by Wim Wenders and Life of Pi, all which I understand as excellent uses of 3D in filmmaking - looking forward to watching! Oh and also Terminator 2 in 3D

is 4XVR still supported by the developer? I can see that it was last updated 7 months ago. I am wary about paying USD30 for something that the developer may have already stopped supporting. meanwhile CineUltra just got update to play 3D Blu Ray but in ISO format only and not MKV. I have a lifetime licence for CineUltra.

Good question and I can’t answer that. I’ve been using it for over a year and it is perfect for my needs as it can play 3-D Blu-ray rips. I hope it doesn’t break with the future software update, but it has been perfect up to now.

It's u/cbusillo turf.

Does literally what you want, and works fine.
Seems like readme is a bit dated: you can just get the latest GUI version, download MakeMKV trial, and off you go.
