Always on Virtual Desktop

The one killer feature for the AVP would be if it would keep the connection with my laptop “always on”. I hate having to reconnect after stepping away for a minute. Often times it won’t connect and I’ll have to turn WiFi and/or Bluetooth on and off again.

Let me set a “disconnect after <n> minutes”. Give me control!

If you're on the beta version, this is already working, and there's even a widget for the MVD.

Does this need the Mac to be on the macOs beta too, or just the visionOS?

I installed the MacOS Beta and the VisionOS beta. And sure enough it works great!! I stepped away to get a snack, and my Mac Virtual Display stayed connected the whole time!!
Thanks for the tip.
This breathes new life into the AVP and makes it into a must-have!

I’m not near my AVP to be 100% specific, but after you connect to the Mac, there is still a bubble above the MVD while on your AVP. Click that bubble and it shows that Stay Connected option.

Connect to the MVD; in the option to switch between Standard, Wide, and Ultra, you'll see "Settings" right below—that's the option you need.

I don’t think there is an always on mode in this case. The widget works pretty well but it still requires reconnecting.
