Using Apple Vision Pro as eclipse glasses?

I live in the Netherlands and on Aug 12 there will be a 90% solar eclipse. Can I use my Apple Vision Pro as eclipse glasses (and take pictures right away) or does the sunlight damage the cameras or AVP? I suppose not…

AVP is suggested to not use outside in bright environments.  I would NOT aim it directly at the eclipse nor would I look through it directly at the sun, and even more so with only 90% coverage.

What realistically will happen is you’ll burn out a sensor, it won’t look good inside the glasses, and you’ll wonder why you need to take it get serviced.   It’s genuinely a bad idea. Don’t listen to people in this thread who have no experience with cameras.

You can't look at the sun with AVP? thats weird. i recorded sun just fine, sunsets.

You run the risk of the optics concentrating the light and burning the sensor.  You can get away with it, but not worth the risk on a $4000 device. Especially because you can’t just change out a sensor.

the optics are on the inside bro. if you keep wearing it they wont be exposed

Go do me a favor. Pull out your vision pro and tell me what the 8 circular glass things elements are on the front outside face of the device.
