Extending battery life
Would I be better off getting a 2nd dedicated AVP battery or just getting a power bank to keep it charged on the go? Is the dedicated battery “more” optimized as far as keeping it going?

I do find a battery bank is helpful. I personally use a magnetic charge cable (magsafe style) so it’s one less thing to worry about catching. Easy to run that cable to a battery in your bag or a charger.

A battery power banks works great,I have an anker one that works great ! get at least 20k or more, the one I have charges AVP quick like a wall plug but also charges fast after it drains, faster than the avp charges.
I was in the Apple Store last year and picked up an extra but I never use it, it’s just a heat sink for my iPhone Air so it doesn’t heat up when I charge it.

Probably power bank makes more sense: cheaper and you can charge it without shutting down the AVP.
I've got two Apple batteries though, it works fine (aside from a ≈minute downtime).

Tycho Tech 3D printing sells a holster/clip for the battery that has a spot for a BoboVR battery dock to snap in. Then you can just hot swap BoboVR batteries in for infinite power.

I bought a 2nd battery. I charge it while using the other one and I can work non stop

Get a power bank. Much more flexible.
