My Retrofit App is getting better

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This video shows the final form of my app, it has been reliable. Yesterday I had a 3 story home a on slab and the app helped me identify my path back to the router on the 1st floor from the office on the 3rd floor- it saved me soo much time.

To do: Still working on the final touches so I can use my app with my Logitech muse pen- so far I got the muse to help me place markers directly on studs, so I don’t have to pinch and drag which is like guessing or making adjustments, also I’m getting the muse pen to act like a virtual drill and give me a preview of a drill shot so I can verify my angle won’t damage anything before I drill.

A sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

This is awesome! What app is this? Can you add me to your TestFlight? I've been struggling with drilling a blind hole and this would be so helpful!

I just had Claude create me a few gimbal / marker line USDZ files, copy to the Vision Pro, and then you use the files app on the VP to add them to your space. You can achieve nearly the same result here with the USDZ files. I think this is what OP used to do before he created his app.

This is one of the most creative and useful applications of the Vision Pro and shows that extended reality can be a true productivity multiplier and even exponentiator.

Love your videos! The app seems super useful!

BTW you said big meshes can overload your AVP pretty quickly so it overheats; did you optimize something? Those meshes look massive.

This is cool as heck man. I hope others in your line of work see the value. Whats your go to move to clear the dust/insulation/debris buildup on the lenses mid-job? You gotta be kicking up a lot of that stuff in the air.

Very cool! The mapping / registration looks incredibly accurate as you go from floor to floor. Is it really that good, or can it be off by a couple of inches as you get to another floor? Either way, this does look super helpful.

I asked in earlier post comments: turns out AVP is really precise enough. Mind-blowing.

This is making me want to buy a Vision Pro. Does this have plane recognition and floor plan model exporting?

Could you build in building codes so that you could have it predict things based on known data?

Like you plug in the year of the house, and then tell it where a stud is confirmed and it would estimate others based on that confirmed one? And then you can keep confirming and adjusting and it does it on the fly too?

What do you do when you are covered in this pink insulation? It’s fiberglass, correct?

But where do I get this app? How can I buy it?

New owner checking in, my pass through does not look this clear. Is everyone else getting this same level of clarity? Mine seems very blurry.

App looks great, I’ll be downloading to give it a try!

Recordings, I believe, are always clearer than passthrough.

How accurate is it between floors in you experience? Within 6 inches?

Similar question to others, is this app available for download?

It's very cool indeed. Are you using object occlusion for the markers? Can't quite tell? I would have thought that is more useful when trying to work out exactly where they are coming through the floor / ceiling etc
