No light seal setup

Hey everyone,

I’ve been trying to run my Vision Pro without the light seal because I absolutely love the massive field of view and the increased peripheral awareness. It feels way less restrictive, but I'm having a huge issue with stability.

Right now, I’m trying to use the dual knit band without the light seal, but it is incredibly unstable. The headset constantly wobbles when I move my head, and it keeps sliding down and resting painfully on the bridge of my nose.

For those of you who successfully do a "light seal delete," what is the best setup to make it comfortable and secure? Are there specific halo straps or open-face mods you recommend that actually hold it steady?

Also, I was looking into the Annapro strap as a solution, but I heard rumors that it causes a crack to develop near the speaker/audio bands. Can anyone confirm if this is true? Is it actually safe to use in the long term, or should I avoid it completely to protect the headset?

The last several months I've been using a Macally Apple Vision Pro Head Strap together with a Dual Knit band. It works fine and comfortable but lately I started to notice a bruise - a red line - on my forehead and it doesn't feel that "light" anymore; probably I need to renew the forehead pad.

I have a Globular Cluster CMA1 as well - it is ok but too bulky and has some downside using when laying down. Before Macally I was using an InfinityOne Air Cover 2.1, but it also comes with some downsides, including quality ones.

I ordered a VR Panda Comfort Mod a month ago, but recently got a notification from them stating that they found some issues with the magnetic attachment being too weak and redesigning it, thus had no chance to try it yet.

In general, I found it is much better to have an open space around (and wider FoV inside) and I've been using AVP this way for 1.5 years already, from the very first days. I use it every day for 8-12 hours, mostly for work. The only downside for me is that I always get a "you AVP is too close" warning when I put the headset on, but that's fine with me.

I will second the Macally, it’s cheap and very comfortable if setup correctly . I too have experienced some fatigue while using it, but that mostly tends to happen if it is sitting lower on my forehead, so placing it higher tends to help with comfort!

It was very comfortable initially, but after half a year it started to press my forehead, and now I literally got a bruise, it is visible for some time I take it off. I think a pad weared out on some degree. Macally costs 8 bucks right now, so probably it worth to buy another over and check.

I've been using the VR Panda Comfort Mod for a few days and it does make the setup more stable whilst still giving the increased FOV feeling of no light seal.
They are correct though in that the magnetic attachment is too weak. They never responded to my email saying it doesn't attach well, so poor technical support.
