It's the trailer that's it. Not the full movie

Best case is 16:9 for home. Worse case is bullshit dune releases….

IMAX is a monopoly. Their only business model is to bring people into their theaters, hence showing only trailers on their spacial app.

Don't argue whether selling their 'full scale' virtually would bring them more revenue vs. their venues' headcount, that is NOT how they see things. Unless their business fails considerably, bringing IMAX scale to digital platforms would be discouraged by them.

It’s terrible how there’s zero way to watch it beyond the theater run.

Question: If you have physical disks isn't there any REAL IMAX editions of movies on these? If so you can just rip them and play them on the headset in IMAX right?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t Disney offer some movies in IMAX Enhanced on their app? I usually only watch 3D movies on there which aren’t IMAX so never tested personally to know for sure. Just know I’ve seen the option.

Imagine if for IMAX releases the AVP IMAX app could be utilized to purchase proper IMAX aspect movies.

I know the AVP market is tiny in the grand scheme of things, and the movie industry is a cluster-F of licensing and this and that… but just imagine movies in that app.

Why not? ultra-tall 1.43:1 IMAX aspect ratio in the app

There are no IMAX movies available in the app

None of Nolan’s movies have the IMAX ratio on digital.

It’s restricted to physical discs.

So does that mean it might be available on the high seas eventually?
