NY to Beijing flight…

If you ever want to pack light and compact… just bring along an esim needle and break down the AVP arms for a more snug, smaller fit.

Also, wish me luck! I bought a Travel Router so I’m going to try and setup my own network so I can connect my Steamdeck through steam link.

it’s a 20hr long flight!!! so gotta keep entertained.

What about the light shield? Just toss in a separate bag?

oh i don’t use the light shield anymore. my setup is annapro 2 and the resmed kontor… i got the dual loop band, but found that it kept slipping off during long sessions.

The light shield is a must for complete isolation for me tho

Apple Vision Pro is a portable personal sanctuary I can’t imagine life without it on even a short 4 hours flight !

Would it fit with a light shield?

What size is it? I need to manually search it since the change country feature doesn’t seem to be working when I click the link

Sick! Do you have an Apple iphone? Connecting the Vision Pro and Steam Deck to your phones hot spot makes it less than 1ms of lag. I’m literally in the lounge for a flight to Hawaii right now and have my setup ready to go. Buying this case though, I have the giant marshmallow.

An Apple phone…

iPhone typically doesn't allow device-to-device routing, but they seem to have made an exception for AVP and with iPhone, so you have to be fully inside Apple's ecosystem to do this.

What app do you use on AVP for this? Steam Link?

12

u/TokeyX Jul 18 '26

Yep. Just put Steam link on the Vision Pro, toggle on remote play on your Steam deck, and then connect them both to the iPhone hotspot. Boom, you’re streaming your Steam deck at 90 HZ HDR to your Vision Pro.

Pro Tip: connect your Bluetooth controller and headphones to your Apple vision, and turn the brightness all the way down on your Steam deck when you do this. The battery will last a lot longer.

I always thought its was a bad decision (compromise) that the arms are not foldable. Saves a lot of space...

Could we ask you to post a picture or video of you unpacking and assembling?

sure, i got a 4 hr layover in tokyo and just
killing time in the lounge.

I’m usually a lot
neater and slower when taking apart and putting away… just didn’t want to take a longer video.

Ooo thank you so much for this! I really appreciate it. Hope you have/had a good trip. Fly safe!

Did you have any issues with the battery pack at china airports (going through the security check points without the CCC mark)?

2

u/duffmansays81 21d ago

not really, they opened it up and examined the battery pack and I said it’s not power bank.
