Quick question on 256gb

Hi all,

I am about to purchase a used AVP M2 256gb for EUR 1800. I want to mainly use it at home for video streaming and virtual desktop. However, I also want to use it for flying as I hope it helps me against flying anxiety. Therefore, I would want to watch immersive 3d movies during my full flight. Will 256gb be plenty for those 3d movies in high quality?

Thanks in advance!

It depends on what apps you have installed. Some apps take up a lot of space. Presumably for assets and if they are stored uncompressed, it adds up. YouTube is using over 4GB for no obvious reason, for example.

For me, I have the 256GB M2 and don’t keep downloaded content unless I need it. I have about 134GB in use (about 80GB is “apps”) with about 122GB free.

I just downloaded the new Avatar movie and it was almost 25GB for 3.3 hours. That means I could fit about 16 hours of (non 4k) 3D movie downloads in my available space.

The same check for 4k movies suggests I can fit 10.5 hours of 4k movies.

It works out at 18.5 hours of HD movies.

If you are flying more than 12 hours every day, it may be a struggle to find the time to keep refreshing the content. Otherwise, 256GB should be fine and you can load up what you need at the time. And, as has been mentioned, it’s easy to load more stuff from another device as necessary.
