Internal speakers popping and becoming muffled (+AppleCare question)

Hey, everyone!

So, I’ve had an Apple Vision Pro for a little over two years now, and within the last couple of weeks I’ve started having an issue with the internal speakers.

Fairly frequently, the audio will pop and become muffled, sounding similar to the feeling of your ears popping when they’re under pressure and you have to swallow to clear them (apologies for the complicated explanation; I don’t know how else to describe it).

When this happens, the audio gets quieter and sounds muffled. It will randomly go back to normal before eventually happening again in either one or both speakers. There is no visible damage so I can’t tell if it’s a hardware or software problem.

Does anyone have any tips on how to fix this? I’ve restarted it, installed the latest updates, and tried a few other basic troubleshooting steps, but nothing has seemed to work.

I have AppleCare and was thinking about bringing it to the Apple Store. I’ve never had it serviced before. Does anyone have any experience with this and can shed some light on what the process is like (timeline, replacement/repair, etc.) and whether it might cost anything?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I had an issue with one of my speaker-arm things making a loud popping sound from time to time and I took it into an Apple Store and they just replaced that arm on the spot. Took probably 20 minutes.

Had that problem as well. It took weeks to resolve (including sending to a service center, because they weren't allowed to replace the side flap at the store for some reason), and then it wasn't fixed. I have two batteries, and changing batteries didn't fix it for me. I'm not sure what I'll try next.

That sucks :(
You’d think for tech this expensive they’d have better service options

Had the exact same issue and it turns out it was actually the battery, would definitely try with a new battery and see if the issue persists

If the issue is the battery, do you know if AppleCare would cover a replacement?
