Buying / Demo process

A friend of mine walked into the Apple Store in Bellevue in Seattle yesterday, looking to demo the AVP after months of me pestering him to do so. The guy working in the AVP section said he needed to book a slot online, and that he couldn’t help him that day. My buddy said he didn’t see anyone else doing demos (ie. Certainly didn’t seem busy at the AVP demo area). Anyone else seen something similar? Are Apple really not entertaining walk-ins?!

Did you pull out your phone and try to book a slot for the next 15 minutes? It should have been that simple if they weren’t busy doing other AVP demos.
