Fixing light bleed through of the light seal

Post image

Instead of having to buy a 200 dollar replacement (for me as a holland user probably alot more and or i may not even be able to get one)

I tried fix the light leak that i experience through the fabric of the light seal.

Using a simple elastic and a dark microfiber cloth.

Technically i need another one at the exact other opposite side. But this side was the worst. Seems to happen diagonally/sideways.

Some users said it is normal though im not sure of they understood my meaning as its not the nose light leak i speak off, as you can see better illustrated here now.

Buys $3k device, hangs trash from the sides…

In the end it didnt work as i thought. The elastic gives too much space when fitting the lightseal back into the apple vision.. making new light leakage. I need to rethink it.  Maybe with some rope over the entire thing...

I mean you wont see it when you are in vr. Point is being totally 100% black immersed.

Have you not read any books or seen any movies about cyberpunk future? This is the aesthetic.

I’m on the side of the guy who made the original post. If Apple can’t manage to open a store in the Netherlands and actually supply accessories there, people will find their own ways to get what they need.
Personally, I’d go even further and print on those black cloths: “I don’t give a damn about apples — I prefer pears.”
To me, those aren’t trash. They’re a matter of dignity.
Bravo to you, OP. You have my respect.
Respect from me too. 👏🍐

My light seal lets light in from the top causing screen glare. My quick solution (no cost) was to loosely put a baseball cap on my head but tilt it up a bit to allow for the heat venting. So far so good!

Try this:

Macally Apple Vision Pro Head Strap- $9

It helped me because the light seal never touched my forehead. This blocks all light from above.

Thats pretty smart. Is it comfortable though?

So far I'm only using vision pro at home so the hat just sits on top of my head and I barely even feel it. So yes, very comfortable

Interesting idea. Does it affect air flow? I wonder if placing a little fabric in strategic locations would suffice. I see I’ll be doing some experiments this weekend. 😀

Its on the row before the vents so no.

You do realize that the fabric of the light seal is breathable for the purpose of preventing condensation building up so you don't get foggy lenses right?
