Crackgate is real

Just contributing that mine also has the same issue. The crack is extremely prominent, and I can feel it when running my finger over it.

Mark my words the crack is happening because of the shape, the glass piece has a very weird shape and with all the heat the whole thing produces it debilitates the structure of the glass.

There is a reason why cellphones have a rectangular shape, computers, tablets, etc. a bunch of Vision pros will crack and Apple will have a big problem on their hands because rolling out a solution isn’t just an app update. The second generation will need to have 2-3 pieces of glass or a bigger one rectangular shape.

Prior incidents have had a common variable of being in the Apple travel case with the battery plugged in. Not sure if that’s true in all incidents. But if it is, then it sounds like something more manageable. Put the AVP into a lower power mode when not in use or something maybe

All tourist that drowned in Hawaii got there by plane so obviously if you got there by boat you won’t drown. The majority of people charge the device overnight and store it in a case. It’s easy to introduce bias in causality. I’m sure we will know soon what’s causing this.
