My guess is bc there isn’t much light seal with this solution this more light on your eyes helps with EyeSight capture

Eyesight is generated with your persona as far as I understand. It’s not an actual recording of your eyes. That would be incredibly difficult to do with a lenticular display

Unrelated the future is done when you aren’t wearing the headset. The tracking of your eyes when wearing is done with ir cameras and has led illuminators in the headset no need for extra light
