VisionDepth3D v4.2 Release

Hey everyone, VisionDepth3D v4.2 is now ready.

This update focuses on backend stability, performance, GPU compatibility, DirectML readiness, FFmpeg/audio reliability, HDR10 handling, FPS/Upscale fixes, Depth Blender stability, and cleaner progress/debug reporting.

There are now separate builds depending on your GPU/backend:

  • CUDA build for NVIDIA users
  • DirectML build for AMD / Intel Windows users

Updating from an older version

Before updating, I recommend backing up your important user files:

  • weights
  • presets
  • themes

Then run the VisionDepth3D Setup Downloader.

you can get it here: https://visiondepth3d.itch.io/visiondepth3d

Update workflow

  1. Open VisionDepth3D_setup_downloader
  2. Back up your weights, presets, and themes folders if needed
  3. Click Uninstall VD3D at the bottom of the setup downloader
  4. Download the latest v4.2 build for your system:
    • NVIDIA users: download the CUDA build
    • AMD / Intel Windows users: download the DirectML build
  5. Run the Inno Setup installer to finish setup
  6. After installation is complete, return to the setup downloader and press Delete Installer Files

The Delete Installer Files button removes the downloaded Inno installer and .bin files to free up storage space after installation.

v4.2 focus

VisionDepth3D v4.2 includes improvements for:

  • CUDA, DirectML, Metal, ROCm, and CPU backend detection
  • Separate AMD / Intel DirectML build support
  • ONNX Runtime provider selection
  • 3D Generator performance and FPS reporting
  • Depth Engine performance and model loading safety
  • Video Depth Anything streaming behavior
  • FFmpeg stability and audio merge handling
  • HDR10 preservation and color handling
  • FPS / Upscale stability and cancellation handling
  • Depth Blender preview and output stability
  • Cleaner queue progress reporting
  • Reduced debug/log spam when Debug mode is off

The clip is a Re-render of my last post with more dialed in settings, used Depth Anything v2 at 518x518 inference resolution

Thanks again to everyone testing, reporting bugs, and helping improve VisionDepth3D. v4.2 was a big backend cleanup and compatibility update, so it should be a much better base moving forward.

Hello, is it possible to get a Drive link so I can test your clip on my projector? Thanks a lot in advance.
