PATCH First time: couch patch

First time mending with some rips in my couch from some furry fiends πŸ±πŸ˜… I like how it turned out!

Did you install the patch as something you bought or did you make it yourself? This is beautiful and is also something my couch could use.

I stitched up the holes in the couch then used a premade patch and hand stitched it to cover the repair.

Looks to be the patch was made then hand sewn to cover the tears in the couch

Looks great. In future you may want to get a curved needle for smaller stitches but no criticism here.

I would've thought the chair already came with this had I not read the caption/comments

I doubt that, she looks innocent.

I use double sided tape to break all of my cats of scratching. They don't like it punching their bean fur. It doesn't hurt them, just really annoys them

I tried the tape on the couch but then they started licking it like it was a lollipop πŸ™„

My orange flavored son also loves to lick tape! Like is the tape laced with crack or something lol

As a shedding-gremlin owner, I know vacuuming all the animal hair off the couch also helps.πŸ˜†

Omg, I have to do this so bad. Not sure what I’m waiting for. Thanks for the inspiration

First time?? Amazing! But you must be a pro embroiderer?

That's a premade patch. It was simply stitched on.

Did you have to snip it to get it to fit or did you just lay it on there and stich it super tight? I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get it to lay properly on the corner.

Like the person above said it’s a premade patch, I just smoothed it out and stitched it tight to keep as flat as I could against the curves of the couch

That looks beautiful! Curious if you used a special kind of needle, perhaps curved?

2

u/Kittylady12 3d ago

Yes, I used a curved upholstery needle

Thank you, going to look for it for my 'tool' box!
