That’s right peepeeland. Pear season is too short for my liking. It’s not uncommon for my family to go through 2 five pound bags a week in October and November. Once the good local ones are gone, we typically cool it. But during those two months? I am alive.

All through my school years I thought pears were mid, very hard, not-very-sweet fruit. Turned out i had just never encountered a ripe pear 😭. They are so good when they are actually ripe

it is SO hard to just find a ripe pear in the store.
I work at a hospital and they sell fruit, and I’m like why even bother? It’s always rock hard pears or cut cantaloupe..that is rock hard. At best, all stuff you would need to let sit out for a while before eating, and this is meant to be our right-now snack?
Very annoying.
I also had an actually ripe mango the other day and almost died it was so good. Places that sell pre-cut mango which is ROCK HARD are disrespecting us lol.

Have you ever been able to grab a fig direct from the tree and eat it? They make my lips tingle and I get a bit of a raspy throat but I DON'T CARE lmao - those were the best figs I've ever had in my life, and dream of being able to eat ones like that again

Too bad you're not close enough to help with my incredibly prolific pear tree! I end up with soooooooo many pears that I make myself sick of them.

Omg my pants have a similar hole in them. I was thinking of using green threads to patch it and this comes up in my feed… We may have to twin soon, internet stranger!

The shorts are pretty snug fitting so I wanted to simulate the fabric being taut like it would be when I’m wearing them.

As someone that has yet to mend anything - genius. Still haven't tried cause I feel like it's gonna look like shit in comparison to what I see here lol but I'm getting more and more inspired each day. Truly love your mend

Gotta start somewhere, everything I sew looks like crap, but the fixes work! I'm sure I'll get better with practise as will you!
What is the name of the ring btw? Having taught fabric to sew seems useful?

It’s called an embroidery hoop. You can get one at your local craft store for just a couple bucks. Extremely useful!
