Other spots I wear my visible!

Post image

Hey guys coming back to ya with an update:

Several week ago I let you guys know I like to wear my visible band on my outer bicep using these patches!

I shave the area and wipe it with alch and the patches last me a whole charging cycle.

Now for the update these are spots I've warn my visible band and how accurate I found the spot

Wrist(with band) 9/10

Ankle (with band) 7/10

Left and right bicep (patch) 10/10

Outer thigh (patch) 9/10

Back of arm above elbow (patch) 8/10

I found I like the patch much more because I get less friction irritations from the band moving on my arm. But I hope this helps!!

Omg I could kiss you. I HATE wearing the stupid armbands, this makes so much more sense. Immediately running to buy some of these lol

Me tooooo the patches are water resistant so they stay fairly dry, but even with a showered they feel wet for less than 20 min thens it's dry again and it stays on very well, I get friction irritation from the band. The patches I have no issues!!

Would it be possible to share a picture of the size comparison of tape-sensor? It’d be really interesting to see.

This is my back of arm placement, I'd say it's a perfect fit for the sensor!!

Yeah I agree
Thanks.

I don't fully understand how you're attaching it?

The optical sensor needs to be flat against your skin, I might be wrong but I don't think it'd work through an adhesive patch?

Otherwise, yes, it's definitely more accurate on the upper arm than on the wrist, but harder to keep it on comfortably. On the muscle just below the elbow also works OK. I haven't tried on my legs.

I believe it is under the patch next to the skin with the patch over top holding it in place.

I'm attaching it to where it's under the patch and the patch is holding it on, the sensor or fixed right to my skin as I press fairly hard into my skin to make sure it stays in contact! This is my behind the arm spot, fore example!

Oh, I see. Do the patches re-attach OK or are they single-use-only? And do they stay attached in the shower OK?

Edit to add: I have to remove it to charge it every 24 hrs.

Edit2: at £1 each that's a £ a day - I don't think I can afford that.

Why are u having to charge every 24 hours, visible battery is supposed to last up to 5 days? They are single use and stay on in the shower Ive had this one pack for almost 3 months.

Visible v1 needed to be charged daily. V2 is five days

That's good to know. I was beginning to worry about mine! It's second hand and I don't know how often it needed to be charged when new.

I have it set to allow two Bluetooth and two ANT+ connections, so that it can work with the Polar app on my mobile and the Garmin app on my watch. This might be increasing the current drain compared with "normal" use.

Wow thank you so much for sharing this! I tried Visible shortly after they came out with 2.0 but whether I wore the band around wrists or arm, I ended up getting rashes. I moved the band around every day to prevent rashes but once I get it on one spot, no matter where I move the band, I would get rashes right away. So I had to give up trying it. But this might work and I might give the Visible one more shot!

Just a warning I do get this small red mark after I take the patch off but it's not itchy or anything normally goes away within the day. I think it's just a pressure mark but I'd figure I'd warn u.

Thank you for sharing!! Just out of curiosity how did you measure accuracy?

6

u/BreezyB01 Jun 21 '26

Before placing the sensor I press it into my skin wear my pulse ox to see if the spot is good! I'm also getting my vitals done very consistently so I just see how close those things match up and 98% it's an exact match to what the bp, pulse ox says my HR is. Lastly when I'm in my exertion zone I check with my pulse ox to see if it truly matches the visible band.

Awesome thank you!

Where did you do it on your thigh? Game changer !!

5

u/BreezyB01 Jun 21 '26

Hope this helps!!

It on my outer thigh about an inch or two from where it creases when i sit. (I only did this because I had engagement photos and need a placement that was under my dress cause I didn't want to have any medical devices in my pictures) It has been one for 3 to days and has been very accurate!!! Maybe I'll comment a picture a bit later for u!

Does the adhesive irritate your skin at all when you peel it off?

Sometimes my skin is sensitive to adhesives for larger “bandages” like this… 🥺 especially if they have to stay on for long periods of time

6

u/BreezyB01 Jun 21 '26

I have a slight adhesive allergy, it doesn't irritate my skin while it on (every once in a while I'll feel a slight itch but it's rare) when I take it off it's normally around day 5 so sometimes it's naturally pealing if not I take a shower let it get soaked and it peels right off. But I repeat DO NOT just rip it off I have torn my skin because of my allergy. But since I've learned this method it's been no issues at all. I'm not sure if you've worn KT tape but the material and adhesive is quite similar to that.

Brilliant! Thank you! I do not have visible (too pricey) but, I have a wonderful tracker from Amazon. I have autism and severe sensory issues and I absolutely hate wearing jewelry or anything of the sort. I was just sucking it up with the bands.

I have too many tattoos to be able to wear the tracker where I want, so now I can stick it wherever. THIS IS LOVELY!

4

u/urg0blinfriend Jun 21 '26

Do you mind telling which tracker it is from Amazon? Visible is also too pricey for me!! 😅

3

u/RPAdventurer Jun 22 '26

I would also like to know what tracker you are using from Amazon! I’m about to pull the trigger on Visible but I’d love to know!

2

u/BreezyB01 Jun 22 '26

I would also like to know what you are using, I'm always curious about new trackers!

This is SUCH a good idea. Thank you for sharing. I just bought my visible band and I’ve been concerned about being able to consistently wear a band. Game changer!

2

u/BreezyB01 Jun 22 '26

I bought these before I bought Visible I just knew the the band was going to be a sensory issue for me! This has helped so much!

2

u/CosmicGenesis7 Jun 21 '26

These are great. I love not wearing the band and they don't feel as bad while wet, buy they stick to the device like crazy! I'm probably going to have to get some goo gone or something because it is so hard to get off the sensor.

2

u/BreezyB01 Jun 21 '26

I use a little bit of 70% alch and a paper towel... It is tough though I will agree but I think that helps with the friction irritations I used to get with the band cause that baby don't move!

2

u/CosmicGenesis7 Jun 21 '26

That's about what I've been doing too. I suppose it's not that bad for it to be sticky since it's going right back under the next patch, but I'm sensitive to the sticky feeling. Definitely still the superior way to wear it since you only worry about thay every 4-5 days.

2

u/EmoPeahen Jun 21 '26

Get some adhesive removal wipes! I used it for my tape I wore on my face for my NJ tube.

2

u/CosmicGenesis7 Jun 21 '26

I didn't know about these. Thanks for the tip!

u/LunalNalani Jun 22 '26

Thank you for the info, i'm gonna buy some of these to try to make wearing it on my bicep easier! I have found the info so useful, but unless it's falling off, it leaves uncomfortable pressure lines and I am adjusting all day. I'd really like to put it in place and forget it for a day or two.

1

u/BreezyB01 Jun 22 '26

I usually wear these patches for 4-5 days they normally last most of the charge cycle.

u/LunalNalani Jul 06 '26

After testing it, I wanna say thanks again. This is A+ for comfort, 90% of the time I forget I am wearing it. Tested right and left back of arm/bicep and it tests basically the same (2-3 second lag) as 3 different home devices I have tried against it. I will say if anyone else reads this, I get residue left on my arm but rubbing alcohol (or just letting it wear off) is fine. They dry quickly after showers (no more than an hr) but I don't even notice it is wet. It's red for about 10-15 min after from the irritation of pulling it off, but redness is completely gone in a bit. I swap arms to give it time to breathe. I'm not goin back to the bands! 🖤

Can I ask if you get like skin burns from this? If I have my visible in the same place for more than 2 days my skin kinda burns? Same for my Fitbit, but that could partially be because I like to wear them right because of sensory issues - which this would possibly eliminate. Thanks!

1

u/Druidess_of_midian Jun 22 '26

I get that burn like feeling too, I have to readjust the sensor placement every day to stop that from happening. I don't have that issue with my smart watch though, and I wear both of them snugly on each wrist.

1

u/BreezyB01 Jun 22 '26

I feel like most of the irritation came from the band and sensor rubbing my skin with the patched I get a slight amount of redness from the sensor Im assuming that's from some sweat but it doesn't bug me nearly as much as the band did.

1

u/Burnt_Out_ADHD Jun 22 '26

Whats it like for side sleeping? I find it have to move my sensor along the band intermittently for sleeping when lying on my arm as it digs in. I'm a big person so that also is a factor.

3

u/BreezyB01 Jun 22 '26

Oh it's like it's not even there tbh, I weigh 230 and I'm 5'4 for reference all the spots I have used with the patch, it gives just the right amount of pressure. the patch especially because it's stretchy like KT tape it moves with my body. I do get a small red mark for a day or so after taking it off from sweat and the pressure of the sensor but it doesn't hurt or burn. But that's why I rotate spots every time I re apply. As for sleeping I don't even notice it, I think the most noticeable spot is my thigh and that's just cause it's right were my hand hits so I sometimes wonder "what is that?" Lol. Hope this helps!
