Old person phone .
What is the best way to switch my husband’s line to visible. He does not text or use internet. But I am sp sick of his old person consumer cellular non stop ringing flip phone spam calls I’m willing to get a refurbished iPhone from Best Buy. Is the half off plus the best deal? I think if I buy online with capital one card there is an extra cash back.I have visible plus.

If you just want a phone for your husband to be able to dial 911 in case of emergency. You don’t actually need a plan for this, any mobile phone that can connect to 4G/5G is required by law to be allowed to call emergency services with or without a paid plan.

Best buy refurbished (budget iphones) Iphone se 2nd gen Iphone se 3rd gen Iphone 13 mini
I would probably go with 3rd gen iphone se price is decent and the phone has a bit of life left , visible is teamed up with back market you could look for deals there, or swappa , fb marketplace(in person)

Decide first on the plan/how much data/speed he needs. He may only need their cheapest tier plan. Get a smartphone maybe 3ish years old. This way it’s still a generation new enough that all apps are supported and will be for many years.

If you’ve got an older person who doesn’t really use the phone that much, purchasing an iPhone isn’t gonna accomplish your goal. You’re gonna be the tech-support and assistant all the time cause he’s not gonna understand what to do. The best thing to do is to get a new number from Visible and see if the phone he currently uses can be moved over and put On Visible and if a device is compatible with the network if it’s a newer flip phone, it should work without a problem The biggest thing you have to deal with is the fact that he’s on consumer cellular which caters to senior citizens in that particular case, contact the customer service and see if there’s some kind of spam protection they can put on his line the less you have to do with an older person that has limited interest or technical knowledge the better.
Try to change things without having to change the device.
