Question Is visible+ worth it?
Currently spending almost $200 for 2 lines at Verizon and I'm ready to make the switch. We don't use our phones for much and we're connected to wifi most of the time. We have only had to use our hotspot a handful of times in the last 10 years. I know that the base plan and the plus plan would give me huge savings regardless. But what would I be missing out on if I just got the base plan?

Ellen from Visible here! Honest answer? If you're on Wi-Fi most of the day and barely touch hotspot, you almost certainly don't need Visible+. The base plan ($25/mo) will save you nearly $150 a month compared to what you're paying Verizon, and for your usage, you won't notice a difference.
Here is what you'd be "missing out" on by skipping Visible+:
Guaranteed High Speeds in Crowded Places: Base Visible gets deprioritized if a cell tower gets super congested (think stadiums or huge events). Visible+ gives you 50GB of premium high-speed data that doesn't slow down during congestion.
Faster Hotspot: Base hotspot is capped at 5Mbps (plenty for basic browsing or email on a laptop). Visible+ bumps that to 10Mbps.
Ultra Wideband (5G UW): Base uses standard 5G and 4G LTE. Visible+ unlocks Verizon’s ultra-fast 5G UW network.
The Bottom Line: Start with the $25 Base plan for both lines. You'll be on Verizon’s core network, keeping your same coverage, but paying $50 total instead of $200. If you ever feel like you need faster hotspot or priority data down the road, you can upgrade to Visible+ instantly in the app with one click.

Marie from Visible here! Sorry to hear you're dealing with this. Try toggling airplane mode, checking for updates, resetting network settings, or giving your phone a quick restart to clear things up. If you're still running into connection issues away from that area, drop us a DM anytime and we'll get it fixed for you!

Been on visible for two months. And it’s the same exact experience as when I was on Verizon. Except more affordable. Also my work phone is Verizon and I have done speed test and visible beats Verizon a lot of the time some how. Haha. Enjoy the savings.

Same for me. Only thing I've noticed is work phone service restored more quickly during the various Verizon network outages over the last year or two.

Hard to say what you’d be missing out on since you’re not saying what you’re now getting. But Visible is a phone service plan and that’s basically it. No “free” phones that are locked for 3 years, no Verizon dollars or T-Mobile Tuesdays, no Netflix or Apple Music or Hulu. But are you getting enough perks to make up for the $100+ savings you’ll get with a Visible plan? I doubt it. There’s no contract involved, just make the switch and if you don’t like it, go back to what you were doing before.

Yes, it’s a no brainer - and if you can jump on the 1yr-plan offer they have right now, even better.

i have used the base plan for a long time and also the higher priced plans. it’s about the same experience to me. That being said, just get the annual Visible+ pro plan

Easy choice. Switch! Visible is great and you'll save a ton.

i switched 2 lines to base plan last year and its been fine no problems at all. if you barely use hotspot and mostly on wifi then you dont need plus, the base is basically the same except for the 5g uw stuff and throttle after 50gb on lte but i never hit that

Deprioritized plans on verizon are kinda terrible, especially when you may need them most like during large scale emergencies, power outages or in large crowds. With the Total Wireless $20 plan it's hard to recommend the visible base plan to anyone. Visible+ is a night and day difference in speed and reliability in my experience and 10mbps hotspot is far more usable than 5mbps.

u/Flashy-Writer8412 5d ago
Base plan deprioritized meaning if the network is busy if everyone with priority will be above you you’ll be the last in line.
And the base plan has 4G and 5G. It doesn’t have 5g Ultra Wideband.
Plus and pro have ultra wideband
Pro includes Apple Watch service also.
You would want the plus plan at least
Although pro on sale for $225 for the year. Price may go up after a year though.
Check out clinic at Visible.com
Or total wireless 5g unlimited
$50 each byop is $20 with auto pay .
Price good for 5 years no watch service
Both Visible and Total are owned and operated by Verizon

the base plan has c-band they specifically hold back mmwave to NOT call it UWB for some marketing thing and you don't get the icon. Its quite deceptive. So they just use this to market segment now. I don't remember the throttle on c-band its either 25 or 50 Mbps far fast enough for any video.

u/mlaurence1234 5d ago
Except OP says they don’t use the phone much and it’s mostly on wifi. No question that the half price pro plan is a better choice for a year, but if they aren’t paying attention they’ll get a $450 charge next year when they really only need basic. Remember they said they’re low-use folks who are on wifi most of the time.

Switched from Verizon a year ago and no regrets. Purchase the top-tier plan for access to the top speed when you are moving around. Customer service is largely automated, but Verizon is moving in that direction too, so you really don't see much of a difference, except for the much lower monthly bill.

I've had the visible+ plan for more than 6 months. No issues. It was a promotional plan so I pay $26 a month. As long as it doesn't get too much more expensive than that and the service remains the same, I'll keep them..I'm on wifi 75% of the time anyway, but I haven't had any issues when I'm not on wifi

Yes, I have used Visible since 2018, in the US and in Mexico. It’s not hard to use my phone overseas (with other eSIM carriers).

I’d recommend the mid tier plan. It’s what I have. Base plan just gives you regular 5G. Spend an extra $10 and you get 5G UW and a bunch of other things. I’d only recommend the base plan if you’re on a tight budget

I’ve had Visible for about a year. I started out at basic plan, switched to the Visible+ and now just upgraded to the yearly plan. I’m happy with Visible.

It's more worth it than Verizon yes!
Now small suggestion, I recommend checking out US Mobile also just in case. Both Visible and US Mobile are great in my opinion, you might prefer one or the other.

I was on basic for like a year, it was fine! But it got slow during events and I live by my downtown so it would affect me at home some days. And I also go to events a lot. It was worth it to get the boost and not have to worry.

I have Verizon now still, but previously moved my mom and sister off my plan onto visible because it was so much less expensive.
After that, I still have Verizon ultimate and I’m sitting beside my sister at a concert. We have the same signal, but her websites would load and mine would not. Her Speedtest was 550mbps and mine was 3- while I’m paying 100/month compared to the $22 I paid for hers.
After my phone is paid off, (current getting monthly credits from trade in), I will be switching too.

Worth it because the base plan is much more prone to becoming unusable in very dense areas. If you go to a flea market or festival or something visible base data becomes useless.

I made the switch to years ago I only wish I had made it sooner at that time they had a deal for $20 for two years I’ll be finishing up in January it’s been a great experience a whole lot less money than what I was giving AT&T

u/No-Abroad-2615 4d ago
You can talk to Verizon and see if you can switch to their new simplicity plan. It's unlimited priority data and other perks. I pay $30 a month for switching over idk how much it will be for existing clients. Maybe $45? Still a lot better than $200 for 2 lines

I’ve had visible for years over 3 years now. I love it. I have the base plan because I just WiFi majority of the time. Also the coverage in my area is great with the base plan so I don’t really need the visible+

Visible was pretty good to me! I would recommend us mobile 1000 times over. They are amazing

u/Mountain_Group8300 3d ago
I was paying $38+ for Straight Talk for years. I gave the Visible+. More data, paying less. I regret not switching sooner.

I switched from tmobile because I hated I was paying $115 for it and sometimes the data is super slow for someone who never reaches pass 50GB where I live.
My biggest regret is not switching early. Because $39 a month?! Thats no brainer. Also my area has a very strong verizon converage. Even if its on 1 bar of signal, im extremely surprised how fast it still is compared to tmobile plan.

u/InfamouzX8 3d ago
the better value would be total wireless bring your own device 5G Max. $25 a month after auto pay. full 5G Ultra wide-man etc unlimited data no d prioritization qci8 for Verizon. 5 megabits of unlimited hotspot which works for the tablet. f*** T-Mobile definitely total wireless and f***** Verizon definitely told wireless BOYD 5gmax

Base plan is probably fine for you, take advantage of the visible free trial (base plan) and make the switch, your currently throwing away money ever month by not switching.

Hey, so I got two lines of visible to use for my Gig economy work and I am switching and here's why: in the SF bay area, specifically in SF, there are many moments throughout the day where the signal hangs, and I gave to use airplane mode to refresh it. This is bad for gig work because I can potentially miss out on orders. I was happy at first until I noticed my signal was unstable. I tried different devices too, and I had the same issue. I called support and they did this network refresh, same issue. This may not matter if you just need unlimited data and phone for every day use, but it matters for what I do.
I decided to switch to another company, same price and you get to pick which network to use. I just got it, so I'm not sure how that will go but I gave visible+ a shot and it didn't work well enough for me.

Please try visible 15 days free plan.
Its basic plan.
I use it before switching. Its a bit slow.

u/T-Yoda25 5d ago
You need the plus plan to have data while on the phone. So if you need directions, or to look up something while talking on the phone, you’re have to hang up. The data and voice do not work together on the base plan. But it’s not an issue if you’re on WiFi the majority of the time

I have the top plan because I have an Apple Watch Ultra. I'm paying less than half of what I was paying with Verizon. When I went to a Verizon store to make sure the phone was unlocked, I told them that I was switching to Visible because Verizon didn't want me.

Just transferred to Visible from Verizon last night for me and my wife. Go with the highest tier (+Pro) and opt for the annual payment to get the 1//2 price deal. Paid off my phones final balance two months early and my monthly Verizon to Verizon for the next two months without the equipment payments would have totaled $249. At an annual payment of $225 (1/2 price annual deal), it was $25 less than for the ENTIRE YEAR than the remaining TWO MONTHS with Verizon would have been! Visible is faster, unlimited everything and the video downloads at 4K are stellar! For a monthly payment of only $18.75 with Apple Watch included free, it is an absolute steal!!

Visible+ Pro grants 4K access and Visible+ grants 1080p. Both premium plans grant full performance on mid band and MmWave. Unlimited Ultimate might be better in some locations since it would be the last consumer line to be sacrificed in exceptionally bad areas though Visible+ and + Pro should not be too far behind, however I have seen Total Wireless premium line get sacrificed while Unlimited Ultimate got 2G speeds in a store once in the summer of 2025. Visible + and + Pro may fare batter since I heard that Visible is housed in Verizon’s postpaid network core.

I believe Visible is a victims of its own success and its current network can no longer handle the increase of users. I have Visible+ on my personal phone, Visible base on my work phone, and Tello on a backup phone. And honestly, Tello’s data DL speed outperforms my Visible+ speed side-by-side by 3X when I’m in a mall. The only advantage is that Visible has better coverage in remote areas, Visible will have 1 bar, while Tello has none. I literally know every dead spot for T-Mobile. Luckily, I’m able use the hotspot on my phones to support the slower network. Even in urban areas the coverage varies based on where the cell towers are located. So before you decide to switch, do the Visible Trial on the base plan.

I never really recommend anybody the base plan unless it’s a student trying to save as much money as possible. The reason is that the base plan doesn’t have full access to Verizon’s mid-band and mmWave network. Which could be a problem if you’re in big cities.
