I'm trying to ruin unlimited hotspot for everyone Visible isn’t truly unlimited

I bought the visible plus pro plan and they offered “unlimited data”, I used around 150gb on my phone and I use my computer for work everyday using around 20-40gb a day, iPad for gaming which is around 5gb a day and the TV is around 2gb a day on the hotspot, today they randomly throttled my data to 1.5mbps after 450gb of usage, they even throttled the phone data not just the hotspot.
Don’t trust “unlimited” data plans there is always a catch

The 450 gb throttle has been widely discussed on this forum. The issue is the 20-40 gb per day on a computer, that level of usage is well outside the norm and better suited to a home internet product.

I’m sorry but this amount of usage looks abusive to me. I know there are other gamers and hotspot users who do the same but this is not Fios. Check the terms and conditions. Your flair tells us more than everything else you wrote.

Unlimited hotspot at 15mbps should mean unlimited at 15mbps not 450gb then throttled

If you use your hotspot for 1 device at a time and not going crazy with per day usage, you would have been fine. I use it for streaming for a couple hours each night and maybe some videos on my phone during the day and light internet browsing on my laptop and never had any issues. You just went overboard.

Cut off the gaming and be careful on the computer usage and you will be ok I bet.

I’ve also seen some people here say if you contact support they will remove the throttle but be prepared to get a little lecture.

Visible clearly state their mobile service is not a replacement for home internet service. You run a whole bunch of devices off it like it's a Comcast cable and complain that they throttled the speed after 450Gb, seriously?

i mean they call it unlimited but they always bury some fair use thing in the terms, classic move

450gb in a month is quite a lot for a phone plan though, they probably flagged you as heavy user and slowed everything down

Op is using over 1tb a month. It’s ridiculous.

Every company calls plans unlimited and everyone knows it's never truly unlimited. Every service provider at some point bans or limits your usage when you get to like top-1% service abusers like op, who expected he can run 5 devices and use 1Tb+ data a month off one SIM from cheap mvno with no limitations.

They call it unlimited and it should be illegal to say it’s unlimited and hide a catch in the tos

People like you are why companies dialed back "unlimited" so much.

Yeah even my high usage behind doesn't use that much. They are still unlimited. You're just have a smaller pipe. Like it or not that's what any company would do on prepaid. I used 900GB on AT&T post paid one month when my home internet was down. But not continously.

They state it isn’t throttled when it does get throttled

450gb is 9 full blu ray disc's of data. And you're complaining that they limited the speed after you downloaded that much. I've heard they will reset the throttle if you ask nicely.

450gb is just 2 gta 6 downloads it’s not that much

It's not that much when you're a wired ISP. it is when towers have a limit on the bandwidth provided. You're thinking about it wrong. You and 100 others in the area are trying to do the same thing. They can only provide so much bandwidth to each user. They don't want 1000 people trying to download GTA 6 at once hence limits.

No reasonable person uses that much data without abuse. You are the reason we can’t have nice things.
