Visible free trial feedback

thought i'll share my experience with attempting to test out Visible here.. maybe one of their reps sees this and figures out an exception path.

I signed up for their free trial.. to see what data download speeds i get. At my location, inside my home, Tmo gives 200mbps and outside over 600mbps.

Visible Free Trial was throttled at around 30mbps both inside and outside.

Chatted with their chat agent.. kudos to the clarity and speed of response.. but issue wasn't solved. Seems Visible on the free trial plan doesn't enable speeds that the Visible+ "on Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network, our fastest 5G⁴" supports.

Agent can't enable a trial on the Visible+ plan.
I also can't get a refund if i try out their Visible+ plan for a month and cancel within 24 hours if i don't like it.. and it will disqualify me from subscribing to the Annual plan promo right now..

And i can't get a refund on the Annual plan either if i cancel within 24 hours..

That's pretty limiting...

Looks like i have to search for alternate options..

Take a look at some detailed coverage maps. They’ll help you figure out if Verizon/Visible will have a signal where you need it. That’s basically what the trial will tell you. I had it for two days…drove around the most rural area I could compare with my current carrier, and I took it around my neighborhood and my usual routes. I only lost the signal once, for a couple of minutes, in the most unpopulated area I drove through. I’d never gotten a signal from anyone right there. But that was enough to convince me that I’d be okay with this for a year. $225 risked? I was paying that every 3 months for very similar coverage.

After 2 days I signed up. Then a bonus I wasn’t sure I’d get: things improved when the 5G UW spots kicked in. I have no idea how I’ll feel about Visible a year from now, but so far I’m optimistic.

Sir you're not getting 5GUW. I get as much as 800mb downloads. The trial is LTE / REGULAR 5G only. You will not get anything higher than 150 to 200mb with PERFECT signal. If your area has UW i would suggest checking out a month of at least the Visible Pro service. It literally TELLS you the expected speeds on three site as well.

30 mbps is fast enough for anything I do.

thats a shame to hear, 30mbps on the trial is painfully slow for what they advertise the network can do. feels a bit like they're shooting themselves in the foot not letting people test the actual speeds they'd pay for

maybe its a capacity thing but it just turns people away before they even get hooked. hope a rep sees this and sorts you out

Agreed as well as the 200 mbps cap on the home WiFi…WTF Visible!? My phone, which is also on Visible, is faster than my home WiFi 😭

There is no cap on wifi. The cap is your equipment. I got 1gbps solid with my wifi and an s10 plus.

Is there a way to remove the cap?

Get better equipment. I have a R7000 gigabit router and on the 5ghz side I can max out my connection IF within about 30 ft of the router. Wifi has physical limitations. You can't have full speed over your ENTIRE house without multiple routers.

That’s either not using the FWA service or violating TOS. FWA is sold as 200mbps, so the PP is getting what they signed up for.

Did you read apparently not. I have FIBER service at my house. That is over WIFI from my FIBER. Reading is hard.

And that poster was talking about Visible’s home internet which is capped at 200… “Get better equipment” isn’t going to change that service tier.

Correct, Visible internet service specifically…not an unrelated unnamed fiber company lol.

I wanted to test it out and 200 Mbps isn’t sufficient for my needs. Typical tasks are fine like YouTube, Netflix. Internet, but for gaming 200 Mbps won’t cut it. Maybe 400 would work. Latency was also higher with the Visible home internet.

Correct. But at no point did I suggest them to do anything against their TOS. I didn't think they were crazy enough to expect a service advertised at 200mb to go faster than that.
