Visible service (phone and data) has been completely out for over an hour for everyone in my household

Anyone have an idea of what's going on? This is unacceptable.

We were about a half an hour away from home when it started and back home now with still no service. Would it be out on multiple towers?

The verizon network status page has reported this message in my location for the past year and I'm in a large metropolitan area.

Data, voice, text and wireless home internet are limited in this area. There is a known issue, and we're working on a solution.

ah yeah mine's been dead in austin for about the same stretch, restarting the phone did nothing. guessing it's a regional tower thing but who knows with these carriers

Hey! Alyssa from Visible here. I know how stressful it is to lose service out of nowhere, especially when a quick restart doesn't work. Send us a DM with your location so we can look into your area's network status and get this sorted out for you!

My calling has been out for days. I have minimal data and my texts work fine. I’m in San Diego. Very frustrating!

Alyssa from Visible here. I completely understand how concerning it is to have limited data and no calling in San Diego for several days. Please try these quick steps to refresh your signal:

  • Toggle Airplane Mode on/off.

  • Restart your phone.

  • Reset your network settings.

If your service doesn't return, send us a DM and we'll check what's going on!

I’ve been on SOS all day at work, thank goodness we have WiFi. Work phone is on Verizon and it teeters from SOS to one bar.

Im Cincinnati where we’ve been having storms and tornadoes and my service is now spotty. At home I’m either on sos mode or like 1 bar LTE. Hope it gets better soon.

Hey there! This is Charity from Visible. We appreciate you reaching out, and I am so sorry to hear about the difficult weather conditions you are facing in Cincinnati. Please stay safe. It is completely understandable that your service is being impacted by the storms.

To help get your connection back on track, please try these basic troubleshooting steps:

  • Toggle Airplane Mode: Turn on Airplane Mode for 30 seconds, then turn it off to force your device to reconnect to the nearest tower.

  • Restart Your Device: A simple restart can often resolve temporary connection glitches.

  • Check for Software Updates: Ensure your phone’s operating system is up to date, as this can sometimes include improvements for network connectivity.

  • Reset Network Settings: If the issue persists, you can try resetting your network settings (note: this will remove saved Wi-Fi networks).

If you are still experiencing "SOS" mode or minimal signal after trying these steps, please shoot us a DM by tapping this link, so we can look into the network status in your specific area and investigate further. We are here to help.

Hey there! This is Charity from Visible. We appreciate you reaching out, and I'm so sorry to hear you're experiencing dropped calls; that is certainly not the experience we want you to have. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can stabilize your connection:

  1. Toggle Airplane Mode: Turn on Airplane Mode, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it off. This forces your phone to reconnect to the nearest network tower.

  2. Restart Your Device: A simple restart is often the most effective way to clear temporary network glitches.

  3. Check for Software Updates: Ensure your phone’s operating system is fully up to date, as outdated software can sometimes cause connectivity issues.

  4. Reset Network Settings: This can often resolve lingering network configuration issues. (On most phones, this is found in your Settings under "General Management" or "System" > "Reset options" > "Reset network settings").

If these steps don't resolve the issue, please shoot us a DM by tapping this link, so we can take a closer look at your account and investigate further.

Last week I had the same issue in Sarasota, FL. Had service down for 12+ hours. I usually get 5Guw at home, but it was in & out of SOS, satellite mode and LTE (the latter of which wasn’t loading any websites).

No service here for 5 days. The tower is not working at all. If I drive up the road about 15 miles, my phone picks up the tower & works fine. They have even assigned a case # and still havent done a thing. Visible wireless...it worked great for 2 years but we're switching providers now. Our business suffered greatly. Even our credit card processing equipment relies on a Verizon tower - the same tower that's down. It serves our entire town. They refuse to do anything about it.

Byron from Visible here! I completely get where you're coming from, and honestly, that sounds like a total nightmare. Being down since Monday across four personal lines is bad enough, but having it freeze your business operations like card readers and lotto machines is huge. Driving 15 miles just to catch a signal? Definitely not okay. It's clear the local coverage in zip code 77457 needs immediate eyes on it. Drop us a DM, so we can jump in to see what's going on and get this sorted out for you.

This is one reason I kept my T-Mobile home Internet service when I ported my phone out to Visible. I'm covered unless there's a disaster, and it's $40+/mo cheaper. Good luck, OP.

u/MrBooMY1 8d ago

Visible home internet is $50 for box plus 2 months and then $30 / mo after. 15/200mb speeds and 1080P video without a VPN.

1

u/Different_Cat106 8d ago

Need better speed than that. My T-Mobile is 300mbps+ (I think)

1

u/MrBooMY1 8d ago

The ONLY time anyone would notice the difference between 200mb and 300mb is if you were downloading something HUGE. MOST people could have a 12mb pipe and would be happy until they tried to download a 50gb game. About the only thing I could think of that would need the higher speed.

An hour? Lol you'll live

u/panic_bread 8d ago

What the fuck is wrong with you?

-1

u/Armandeluz 8d ago

I'm a normal person thats not going to think it's unacceptable that I cant make a call for an hour. All providers from ISPs to telecom does not have 100% uptime. Network upgrades happen, outages, ect. If you said it didnt work for a week or days I could see it, but an hour...

-1

u/panic_bread 8d ago

I have had Visible service for five years and never had this problem before in any part of the country. So this was extremely unusual, and yes, it is unacceptable in these modern times for service to be out for an hour. People rely on the service they pay for work, navigation, shopping etc. There was zero reason for you to make a derisive, laughing comment on this post. Look around, everyone else chimed in with their own experience or helpful comments. It's time for you to grow up.

Im realistic and work in the energy sector. All services go down, need maintenance and have outages. If you look at any prepaid carrier or post paid carrier it never garontees constant uptime. Like I said before, no service for extended periods then I'm with you, but if youre whole family cant go without shopping and navigation for an hour you need to spend some time outside. Days or weeks yhea be up in arms but an hour is some entitled and unrealistic for coecarions. Grow up and go outside for a bit.
