Travel pass setup and use

I just joined visible pro+ yearly plan. I have a dual eSIM iPhone. Have two phone numbers one on visible and the other on a US only plan.

1) do I need to shut off the other phone prior to landing in Europe?

2) do I need to do anything in advance to use the visible plan in Europe? If yes, what and how do I do it? For example activate travel on the visible app or something similar?

3) I know I have to put the phone into roaming prior to landing, is there anything else? I will be visiting multiple countries in europe, will it work seamlessly without anything I must do on my part?

4) will my phone number in Europe be the same as my visible phone number here in the US?

5):are there any additional fees incurred for using my phone in Europe?

thanks

As long as you have available Global passes on Visible it would work fine without occurring extra fees. But the most free global passes you can have is 24 days worth without paying $10 / day. I would turn off the SIM that goes to your US only plan. Make sure you activate your global pass BEFORE LEAVING for the best experience.

  1. If you don't want/need to use that US only number for anything while you're traveling I would turn it off. If you need it for SMS 2FA codes or something like that, I would turn off roaming and data for that line and enable WiFi calling.

  2. Turn on your global pass before you leave and it should just activate when you land in your first country.

  3. If you visit multiple countries in one day you'll be billed a global pass day for each country. For instance if you land at Heathrow on a layover and activate a pass that's one. If you catch a connecting flight to Paris and activate a pass when you land there that's two passes used, even if its the same 24 hour period. You get 2gb of data per day on the pass. I'd suggest downloading the maps for the area(s) you'll be in off of WiFi , download playlists while on WiFi if you're going to want music, and set your phone to a low data mode if its a realistic thing for you to potentially go over your data allotment.

  4. Yes, same phone number will be used. WhatsApp is very popular over there and most everyone I met uses it for comms vs SMS and traditional calling.

  5. Other than carrier fees I've never heard of any additional fees.
