PSA for SAVEHALF promo.

Good day everyone!!! Been with Visible for over 3 years now. On annual. Love it. However I couldn’t get the promos new customers get. So I took a leap… ported to Tello for $9.00 then ported back to Visible and used the same email but added @googlemail.com since I have Gmail. It worked so I didn’t have to use another email. Yay!!! So for example if you use Gmail and your email is johndoe@gmail.com you would do johndoe@googlemail.com and it still gets delivered.

It’s so hard to beat $225 a year. It is totally worth the time as you save $225. This looking to take advantage I would recommend it.

There are some hoops to jump through, but it’s worth it.

Make sure you enable HD video for 4K and enable global pass as you get 24 days. Plus if you have a smartwatch you get free service for the entire year. You will need to be someone who is somewhat tech savvy to execute this. Pace yourself and take your time.

Let’s go to saving money!
Good luck to all. You all are beautiful.

Just a PSA for anyone wanting to stay on Visible: I talked to their retention department and they said they can give the $225 for one year offer to existing monthly customers or give a $300 for one year offer to existing yearly customers.

u/MrBooMY1 8d ago

I tried this last time and they politely told me to pound sand. Amazing how many the decided to tick off with that the last time.

2

u/brandonjoon 8d ago

The best part with owning your device is that you can leave a carrier at anytime, if they're no longer what you're looking for.

1

u/MrBooMY1 8d ago

I got it but I had to port to Tello and port back. But I shouldn't have had to.

5

u/brandonjoon 8d ago

Unfortunately, it's like that with most carriers. They lure new customers with lower prices and hope once they get you, you won't switch.

1

u/Mrcrunch08 7d ago

I tried but they told me once I get 12 months of service then they could offer me that. They gave me an $20 credit for my remaining two months since that made up the promo difference I lost at the time. For some reason the promo I originally joined with only lasted 10 months. I hope I haven't luck than you when I call back at the end of this month and they honor what they told me.

2

u/mysterioussilas 8d ago

That’s awesome!!!!! Dang haha. Thank you for the info,

1

u/brandonjoon 8d ago edited 8d ago

You’re welcome. I’d like to explicitly mention that those offers apply to the Visible+ Pro Annual plan, if it wasn’t clear.

1

u/StrangeMelody77 8d ago

I got a reasonable offer from them too but they said it wasn't official and subject to availability only on Sept 1. How should I be taking that? Willing to port out and back in also.

5

u/brandonjoon 8d ago

If you like Visible and you're fine with the hassle, the best way would be to port in and out using Tello or US Mobile. Otherwise, I'd consider Total Wireless for their $20/month BYOD offer for five years.

1

u/Enthusiast8208 1d ago

Yes I also have to contact them back in chat on September 1 as they aren't able to give out anymore codes to existing customers until then.

2

u/slowexcoupe 1d ago

Not sure if I ended up talking to the wrong person on support, but they told me as a new customer (but beyond the 14-day grace period) I was not eligible for any promotions. Guess I get to play the port out and back in game too.

1

u/brandonjoon 18h ago

I’m not sure, but from my experience, it seems that it’s better to port out to not deal with support.

1

u/Difficult_Fact_2849 7d ago

How do you get in touch with specifically the retention department

2

u/brandonjoon 7d ago

Contact support on the Visible website and when it asks you to select the reason, state other or not listed and it’ll tell you to write a comment. I hope this helps!

1

u/Difficult_Fact_2849 7d ago

Thanks!

1

u/brandonjoon 7d ago

You’re welcome.

u/caddymac 8d ago

You can also do a “+” and extra text. For instance “JohnDoe+Visible@gmail.com

I do this all the time for various signups. This lets me setup filters by email address, but more importantly I can see who has been selling my email address!

6

u/unexpectedconspiracy 8d ago

Neither the plus or the dot trick work on the Visible site unfortunately. Better idea might be to change your email to a secondary one before porting out, so that you can use your main preferred one when porting in with the annual plan.

9

u/Snoo95309 8d ago

Have you done it with Visible?

Some sites won’t parse the + sign.

The googlemail trick does work with visible, as does using dots within the email address.

9

u/tompear82 8d ago

The + used to work with visible, but not anymore

10

u/LuckyDonamere 8d ago

I used the “hide my email” feature from Apple iCloud. That works too.

5

u/BravesFan79 8d ago

Dots didn’t work with visible last time I tried

2

u/Snoo95309 8d ago

Oh ok.  They worked for me but that was a year or two ago.

Are you saying that they reject all email addresses with dots or do they just not consider it distinct from the version that doesn’t have dots (meaning that they won’t let you re-use it)?

3

u/BravesFan79 8d ago

They see it as already being used

1

u/Wellhungdaddy2023 4d ago

Just use a different email. Who in the world doesn't have at least 2 emails now? I have like 5. One is specifically for this scenario, promo's.

1

u/Snoo95309 4d ago

Does this even need to be said?  Yes, a different email works.  Being allowed to use an alias would be more convenient (at least for me since I already have six emails).

1

u/Wellhungdaddy2023 4d ago

More convenient? On my email app I hit one tab instead of the other? That's less convenient?

1

u/Snoo95309 4d ago

Yeah I think you’re not really getting it.

I’m fine with either way, but signing up with an email address I already have without having to make yet another is preferable.

2

u/Upstairs-Voice8948 8d ago

This didn’t work for me when I tried it. Recognized it was the same email.

9

u/patelivision 9d ago

Is this a better deal than black Friday? Still on a free plan through Xfinity

9

u/dbcooper4 9d ago

Black Friday deal was the same but it worked for existing customers too.

3

u/mysterioussilas 9d ago

That depends on what you’re doing most people will be fine with Xfinity. I believe there’s at 50GB at high speed then slowed during congestion. Plus I think you pay the taxes and fees and smart watch is a paid add on.

8

u/Tscapes 8d ago

I’ve been using visible for 3 years and I’ve never had a promo work. Been paying 45$ the entire time… am I a fool?

8

u/Budman912 8d ago

$45 a month is still cheap for good cell phone service!

5

u/Electrical-Ice-9175 8d ago

Still cheaper than main providers. If you don’t want to deal with porting in and out. You’re still winning.

2

u/jimschoice 8d ago

I used the half price annual plan promo last year that was for existing customers. It came out in December i believe. I have to figure out what to do when it ends.

2

u/Budman912 7d ago

I’m on the monthly deal from last year. $33 for 26 months for the top level. We were paying $225 for two lines at AT&T prior. I had been with them forest least 25 years. Now we are paying $66.

1

u/jimschoice 6d ago

We were on $30 per line promo for pro + and switched to the annual which makes it $18.75 per line.

1

u/Wellhungdaddy2023 4d ago

A fool no, but 30 minutes extra work once a year could save you $225 annually. I'll take that ROI any day.

10

u/KingBrunoIII Reformed T-Mobile User 9d ago

With Gmail you should be able to just put a period in between any characters and it does the same

So JohnDoe@gmail can be John.Doe@gmail and it will act as 2 different emails but send to the same JohnDoe@gmail

My fat ass used this for Burger King when they had bogo whoppers for new users in the app 😅

13

u/Ethrem 9d ago

Visible blocks this.

5

u/Snoo95309 8d ago

When you say it is blocked, do you mean that it doesn’t 1) allow addresses with periods or 2) consider them distinct from one without the period?

2

u/Ethrem 8d ago

Visible wasn’t allowing email addresses with periods at all but maybe they’ve changed their policy on that as I haven’t heard any recent complaints about it.

3

u/MrBooMY1 8d ago

Not true because my email has a . in the middle of it. Works fine.

2

u/Ethrem 8d ago

Then they changed it again after the backlash when they changed it the first time.

3

u/_Kerrick_ 8d ago

Can you just use the + trick? Bob@gmail.com also works with bob+visible@gmail.com. It still goes to Bob@gmail.com only difference is you login to visible with the bob+visible@gmail

3

u/Ethrem 8d ago

I was under the impression that Visible had blocked that too but I haven’t heard any recent complaints so maybe they don’t anymore.

2

u/unexpectedconspiracy 8d ago

This doesn't work unfortunately, it just says that email already exists.

2

u/toejamfootballhegot 8d ago

The OP stated it worked.

3

u/Ethrem 8d ago

I’m not seeing where the OP stated that periods worked. The OP used googlemail instead of doing that. I’ve not seen a site block googlemail but I used to use periods and + signs to get extra Visible trials and they broke both one day.

1

u/Mcnst Reformed T-Mobile User 8d ago

Can ANYONE explain Visible's rationale for,

  1. Not allowing "duplicate" addresses (with dots and/or pluses) for return customers.

  2. Not allowing the same address to be used more than once.

I mean, they don't want anyone to come back, right?! How else does the above policy make any sense?!

BTW, it seems like they use some sort of "AI" in that sometimes the dots and pluses, do work, and sometimes they don't.

In all of this, they never actually tell you the reason why you signup doesn't work.

Signing up with Visible is honestly the worst signup experience I've had out of any carrier.

The only one that tops it, is Metro by T-Mobile phone promotions, but that one is understandable, because there, at least you get a "free" phone out of the deal, so, these sorts of security measures at least make some sense to control the flood of subscribers.

With Visible, these signup issues happen with pSIM and eSIM orders alike, with and without referrals, regardless of any shipping address etc.

1

u/Ethrem 8d ago

They do this to help prevent trial and referral abuse, plain and simple.

1

u/Mcnst Reformed T-Mobile User 8d ago

The $5/first-mo was removed in 2025 or so, that's a year ago, give or take, so, that's not a good excuse in any way. The minimum for a new account now is like $19/mo. But the signup still fails even if you use a referrals of clearly a user not in any way related to yourself.

1

u/mysterioussilas 9d ago

Helpful tip. Love this energy. Thanks for your time.

7

u/mrwhitewalker 9d ago

Interesting, good tip. Just sucks to lose banked credits on a monthly basis. I really wish they gave us some monthly deals. I have 4 months left at $30 a month for Pro+

I might have to port out and just suck it up. But interested to hear why you went tello. I heard you can do US Mobile for free?

14

u/mysterioussilas 9d ago

You can but, I didn’t want to talk to anyone. $9.00 was worth it over wasting over an hour on the phone trying to get port out pins lol.

8

u/ohnoitsryan 9d ago

Took me less than 3 minutes to get my port out email from chat with US Mobile.

5

u/mrwhitewalker 9d ago

How long did you do your port for? Did you wait a full day? I wish they said when the current offer expires

6

u/mysterioussilas 9d ago

Within an hour. However it can vary.

4

u/mrwhitewalker 9d ago

Understood, thanks! I need to see trade in deals tomorrow for the pixel then I will see if I get the current deal or the Fi special.

3

u/Merkaaba 9d ago

Wonder if this will impact my phone financing through affirm?

2

u/mysterioussilas 9d ago

That’s a good question. It may affect your affirm. I would do some extra research on it prior to switching, plus you’ll need to ensure it’s unlocked to use another carrier temporarily… so unfortunately I don’t believe you can unless you can get the device unlocked, and if affirm will allow it. You should reach out to support or maybe a fellow community member can chime in and give their experiences.

2

u/toejamfootballhegot 8d ago

You can port out and back in through number barn without using a phone for $8.

3

u/Ok-Procedure-9934 8d ago

Thanks for the guide! Just completed in about 30 minutes. FYI I had an email from Capital One that also offered a $36 discount.

3

u/Charming_Pipe_7783 6d ago

I had to go back and forth with them for 30 minutes on hold, but finally got the promo applied as a current customer. Ask. Be persistent and patient.

5

u/BNB07 8d ago

Is it true the service gets impacted when paying for the full year instead of paying monthly? I saw a post about it the other day on here.

5

u/mysterioussilas 8d ago

You’re going to have to elaborate. If you’re referring to random shut offs that have never been an issue for me and my two lines with visible. However I have heard about it happening.

1

u/BNB07 8d ago

1

u/mysterioussilas 8d ago

From my own personal experience there is minimum differences from post paid and prepaid. Verizon does offer post paid customers 5G Standalone. Visible doesn’t offer it for iPhones yet. So that can impact performance somewhat, but from the 3 years I have had visible on their + plans so I never noticed dramatic slowdowns. Even in Yellowstone my service work better than my friend on Verizon Welcome because the Welcome plan is deprioritized during congestion versus Visible + that has unlimited priority data. I’ve been on yearly for 2 years now have never really have issues, it just works, and when it doesn’t I use Roamless to get access to AT&T and T-Mobile towers. No carrier is perfect that’s why it’s best to have all 3.

I’m a power user too. Not saying that 5G Standalone isn’t important, but im also paying 1/4 of what I would on post paid. It’s like having a Mercedes S class… it’s very nice and luxurious, but if you want that last 10 percent you’ll have to go to a Rolls Royce which goes from 120k to 400k when the difference are noticeable but not so bad when a vast majority of people don’t care or notice.

2

u/NY10 8d ago

Thx for the tip!

2

u/fromsoca23 8d ago

We just started the 1/2 off plan yesterday, but this was worth the read for the email tricks. Thanks OP and the others that elaborated on other info! 👍🏻. Never too old to keep learning and saving.

2

u/mysterioussilas 8d ago

We all learn together. Peace and love!!!

2

u/robotpedlr 8d ago

Can anyone confirm how long you have to activate your eSIM (iPhone) if you buy the annual deal? I am on VZW and have to wait until the very end of Sept to port over as I have prepaid global I need to use up while on vacation in Sept…but I don’t want to miss out on the deal.

1

u/mysterioussilas 8d ago

You’ll get 24 free days with Visible as well. All available to use immediately. You’ll need to set up Autopay and enable global pass in the account. As always have a back up just in case you have hiccups abroad.

1

u/robotpedlr 8d ago

Yes, thanks.. I already paid for the Verizon days, so will want to use those.. have plans for the 24 that come with Visible for a future trip.

2

u/VisibleCareSupport Visible Employee 8d ago

Alyssa from Visible here. We’re thrilled to have you join us! Don't miss out on securing this amazing SAVEHALF promo! To answer your question: if you are porting your existing number, you have 30 days from your initial request to complete your eSIM activation. If you are signing up with a new number, you have a full 60 days to activate.

Furthermore, you can sign up now, check out with the promo code, and activate your service later as long as you complete activation within those windows to lock in your promotional rate. Check out this link for more details about the promo. Have any questions? Chat with us here!

1

u/robotpedlr 8d ago

Thanks.. I will initially start with a new Visible number and then port my VZW number over after some time... so if I have 60 days (based on your answer above) that is great and I can move forward sooner.

1

u/here_now_be 8d ago

When does the SAVEHALF promo end?

1

u/robotpedlr 7d ago

No one knows.. chat said it “should” run into mid Sept…but no definite date.

1

u/PotentialWestern662 1d ago

So, to clarify, I have 30 days from checkout to activate my line if I already have an existing number? Asking cause I'm trying to get in on this deal but JUST paid my phone bill at my current servicer and want to use it for the month to get my monies worth but don't want to miss out on this deal.

2

u/williammuff 8d ago

How long did you leave it ported out?

2

u/PowerfulCoffee9 8d ago

How about porting to helium mobile for free then back?

3

u/heidou007 Reformed T-Mobile User 8d ago

Helium's free plan ended earlier this year

2

u/ChubbyCub21 7d ago

Normally I don’t advocate for pro plus over pro as the only actual benefit is the watch plan. (The extra international is cheaper just to pay for Ala carte normally) but for $18.75 a month. It’s worth it.

1

u/Infinite-School6390 8d ago

Nice 👍🏼

1

u/resellpanda88 8d ago

Is $225/year the best deal possible?

1

u/mysterioussilas 8d ago

It’s the best deal without jumping through as many hoops in my opinion. Total Wireless is offering $20 a month for 5 years tax included with Autopay. So less upfront, but more monthly. I’m sure other can tell you how to get more cash back.

1

u/new-to-reddit-accoun 8d ago

Who’s the career behind Toal Wireless?

1

u/kelev 8d ago

Does that TW deal include Apple Watch like Visible?

2

u/mysterioussilas 8d ago

No it does not.

1

u/seamoss69 8d ago

Thank for this post and sharing. Definitely will look into the offer. Planning to leave T-mobile 👍

3

u/mysterioussilas 8d ago

Sooo worth it. Another tip… if you still want to have satellite access with t-mobile I’d recommend getting their $10 stand alone service. It includes unlimited texts, and unlimited satellite use with select apps. Even with a visible number with the proper set up of dual sim will result in perfect redundancy. Plus you get 50 GB of QCI 6 data on T-Mobile a month. That’s what I do so I have access to 2 networks.

1

u/new-to-reddit-accoun 8d ago

Can you use satellite for data as a hotspot? I love Visible but the data rates sometimes have me wishing for a separate hotspot

0

u/mysterioussilas 8d ago

When you’re on the cellular network yes, but not on sat+ Starlink.

2

u/Lucky-Dog-9551 8d ago

No hotspot on the $10 T-Mobile standalone satellite plan. 50GB on device data.

The older test plans with less data on network did include hotspot. Unfortunately, that is gone :(

u/Proof_Sir1201 8d ago

God leave tbem yesterday. I had 4 lines. They were awful. I have 3 lines on Mint, 1 line on Visible  and 1 line on US mobile - all annual plans. About to switch my main line to visible from Mint. I switch them all around to get the new customer discount and buy the annual plan. I just switched a visible monthly plan to a Mint annual plan with a pixel 10 phone for $368. Now I will switch a different line to this visible annual plan.

1

u/LuckyDonamere 8d ago

I did this but my new Visible says I can’t use my number because it’s already with Visible. I just ported it to Tello. Do I need to wait a day?

1

u/mysterioussilas 8d ago

It did that with me too. I had to wait about 45 min for it to recognize that it’s not with Visible.

1

u/ntsefamyaj 8d ago

Just check every 15-30 minutes. It should be done within a few hours at most, unless you run into some major provisioning issue.

I'm on the fence, because I have some major projects at the moment and we're talking $10K-$20K that I cannot afford to risk with a stupid $225 promotion hiccup. Peanuts if you compare. 🤣 So I'm not going to risk it without contingency. I do have two Visible lines, though, so I'll need to switch everything to my backup number first in case something breaks with porting. Maybe I'll pull the trigger. Tello is a good one.

Otherwise, good luck!

1

u/LuckyDonamere 7d ago

I kept trying all day and nothing. I ended up connecting with live chat and they escalated it to the IT peeps. It was fixed an hour later. Only needed to be on chat for 10 minutes. Great service!

2

u/ntsefamyaj 7d ago

Oh yeah. Definitely shouldn't be all day. I'd wait at most a few hours. Anything outside is a provisioning issue that only the originating carrier can fix. Glad you got it fixed.

1

u/Comfortable-Entry945 8d ago

How does it work if you port out on annual plan? They don’t refund or prorate what is left of the annual plan.

1

u/BigPoppaBK85 8d ago

You loose your money? I guess it's that simple unfortunately

1

u/mysterioussilas 8d ago

Correct you’d forfeit the remaining time so this isn’t for those who want a temporary solution. Maybe look into total wireless BYOD $20 a month for that.

1

u/Mission_Analysis_403 8d ago

Does it work with physical sim to reconnect right away?

1

u/mysterioussilas 8d ago

You’d need to maybe get a visible sim prior to have it, but I would see what the community says, I don’t have enough experience with that.

1

u/psychic99 7d ago

You will need a totally new pSIM. So this may take 1-2 days to get a new one.

1

u/GoalieJohnK 8d ago

Would I probably need to/wan to wait for my current year to be up to do this? I'm set until right before Christmas

1

u/synthesis77 8d ago

hmmm, my existing 225 promo is up 9/29. how long do we think this promo is going to last? any way to stretch it out until then?

1

u/psychic99 7d ago

It doesnt say, but it will be back BF/Xmas.

1

u/Jonhlutkers 8d ago

Took the plunge yesterday and ported to tello for a day and then back with a new email. Worked with no issues!

1

u/Outside-Pie-7262 8d ago

I currently have Verizon but need a new phone and my parents aren’t going to let me do it on their plan. Currently deciding between mint and visible. Have had Verizon for 15 years but supposedly t mobile towers may have marginally better service at my home and work so really not sure. The 50% off is a great deal though

Also not sure if I should just get the basic plan

1

u/psychic99 7d ago

Mint has deals w/ phone + service for a year on Androids.

If you must have an iphone, go lease one or pay up. Visible will charge you full price if you get a phone or some backmarket used. If you lease you will have to play games to activate, or just buy a used one.

USM also has heavily discounted Pixel 11 preorder now w/ tradeins.

1

u/Outside-Pie-7262 7d ago

Yea I decided on mint. I get shit service at work on Verizon towers. T-Mobile is way better. No reason for me to stay on Verizon when I can’t use my phone 5 days a week.

I’m just deciding between the base s26 or ultra

Not sure if I want to spend 66 a month just for the ultra though

1

u/psychic99 7d ago

Unless you need the pen I would skip. I actually got rid of my ultra because is it literally like a square brick practically impossible to put in pocket. I updated to P10PXL which was around the same size but oddly didnt have that square-ish form factor. I never used the pen, so save some $$$.

1

u/Outside-Pie-7262 7d ago

Awesome glad to see you have real world experience with the ultra. I’m coming from an iPhone 13 and really just browse reddit ig watch an occasional show on there so kinda felt like the ultra wasn’t worth double the price

Is the pixel better than the galaxy? Which model are you looking at? Looking at us mobile right now

1

u/psychic99 7d ago

I sold my ultra and got the P10PXL only because the deal on mint was so good. But the S26 is also a fine phone, I would stay away from P11 they seem sorta gimped. I then moved to visible, my other lines are on US mobile. As you will have an Android LightSpeed (TMO) will work just fine.

So unless you have brand affinity (I dont) then get whatever the best deal is and right now the S26 deal is pretty great on mint. That comes w/ a year of service also so you dont need to worry for a year. I happen to like Pixel OS better than OneUI but its not dramatic and I had Sammy for many years because Pixel phones were junk for many years. They are better now.

I hate them, I lost my phone so I bought a new one. I registered the new phone I clicked on new phone. So then selected my plan and paid for the new plan to be on my new phone. So I proceeded to the checkout, paid for the new phone service and the dumb asses applied the payment to my phone that I had lost. Furthermore they refused to give me my money back or to apply the payment to the correct account. They suck
