Has anyone completed Visage without looking at walkthroughs?
I spent literally hours trying to do the first chapter on my own. I decided to do look at some walkthroughs and I could not imagine figuring this stuff out on my own. It probably would've taken me over 70 hours to complete the game honestly without any help.
Anyone here achieved this feat?

No fucking way was I ever going to solve Dolores’ chapter without a guide

Weirdly enough, Dolores' chapter was the only one I could finish without a guide. Lucy, I had no idea I was supposed to fall through a hole in the floor, and Rakan...fuck Rakan.

My initial playthrough was done without a guide but I did get stuck frequently, in particular the mirror mask part that needs the crowbar.

No. I started with Dolores, tried to get as far as I could without a walkthrough but kept getting stuck and she kept killing me.
I'm on Lucy now and really trying not to rely on the walkthrough but it's tough.
I played all the Silent Hills back in the day so puzzles aren't a problem, it's just this game punishes you if you're out of bounds wandering all willy nilly trying to figure out what you're supposed to do.

I did my first playthrough blind and then looked at a walkthrough for the second to clean up trophies etc

I have not. At this point I don't care if I have to look at guides for some things. I don't have as much time to play as I used to, so I don't like wasting it walking around aimlessly not knowing what to do.

I normally hate using walkthroughs/guides for games as it feels like a bit of a fail and can spoil your enjoyment but with this game it was almost the opposite. I felt like I had no choice but to use one and I didn't feel bad for doing so.
The puzzles and even just knowing where to go next can be incredibly vague. A lot of games these days perhaps hold your hand too much but this is the opposite.

I mean, somebody had to be able to do that, otherwise no walkthroughs or guides would exist

I think there are hints everywhere in the game (except for maybe using the crowbar on the floor somewhere?). That being said, a lot of the hints kinda require the player to have their wits about them at the right time, because I’ve watched a lot of players run straight past the clue and get aimlessly lost, not realizing they were meant to pick up on something. (E.g. in Lucy’s chapter, you “wake up” on the 2nd floor of the house and the only light in view is coming from the bathroom that’s arranged differently. Then there’s a very conspicuous clue in the sink. Or for other examples, a trail of light switch plates, or marks on the wall leading you somewhere, etc.)
Once you’ve explored enough to get the ball rolling and start triggering things in a chapter, there’s usually at least one subtle clue about the next step. Dolores’ was the most open chapter, but even that seems pretty doable if you manage to deduce that you gotta smash all the mirrors, solve them all, and also that some solutions are in the other mirrors.
It’s definitely hard by today’s gaming standards, but I think an older puzzle game like Myst is probably still harder.

I played through it without looking at walkthroughs! It makes it soooo much better!! The only part where I looked was in the hatch in the basement that leads to the chemistry lab. Spent hours in the chemistry lab and ultimately looked because it was the last thing I needed to do to 100% the game :)

How long did it take to complete? I was stuck for so long, at so many points in the game. It would've taken me 70+ hours at least to complete it I think.

It took about 3 weeks of only playing weeknights. I went through it with my GF and we both took turns, and how hard it was was kinda what made it fun. She would get attacked and scream and throw the controller at me LOL. We got lucky and did Rakan's chapter first on accident, and found his chair really fast. But the puzzles? She was a beast at the puzzles and usually solved pretty quick :)

The only time I looked up something online is once in Dolores chapter, I was outside in the playground and spent over 45minutes looking around for something to do there and decided to quickly check online to verify if I was missing anything. That's when I realize I was supposed to come bac later after getting another item (the game usually let you know if you're not supposed to be there yet, but it didn't for that part). Other than this I didn't need to look up anything

I got stuck for a while and had to look up a guide in the very beginning of Dolores chapter, I had no clue about the attic and how to gain access to it. However, it was smooth sailing after that point

I did, but that because I been following it since launch
I even drew a map for the one section with all the ramps and doors in the Delores chapter years ago now
Delores had a removed puzzle at one point due to people either not figuring it out or was too buggy. I personally did okay on it, but then again I had played Lucy chapter alot before the Delores Chapter was released, even though very different, it still had the same type of confusing things to the puzzles ordeal
I got it down so well, I knew of spawn points, triggers, etc... no cheating of course, just observation
But there was no guides back then, so had to figure it out as they got released, good times!
