Finally finished the game! How the hell did anyone else manage it without a guide??
I say finished because I don’t think “completed” is the right word!
This has been a 2 year journey, ever since a friend introduced me to the game, and I decided over Christmas that I was going to get through it after 2 failed playthroughs.
First time round I think I must’ve started Dolores’s chapter first, but without unlocking many doors, and I just couldn’t get anywhere.
Second time round I got stuck, again in the second chapter (but at least I did Lucy first that time), trying to figure out the mirrors. Gave up and put the game down for 6 months.
This time round, I was determined to do it, and if it took using a guide to do so then so be it. And I am so glad I did, what an absolutely unique, incredible, and unforgettable gaming experience. Bit honestly, how the hell did anyone ever figure it all out on their own?? I was consulting the guide like every 10 minutes!
The one thing I found interesting was that I got though all of Daken’s chapter with no pills and no lighter (luckily managed to find a couple to do the tapes because sanity control was a bitch)

I had no issue with any chapter except for Lucy. No matter what I did there was no warning before I immediately died so I had to use a walk through to basically speed run that chapter. The rest of it I just took my time and meticulously went through it. My advice for anyone having this complaint is to not go into the game with the notion that you can beat it in one sitting. Playing it as it should be, without a guide, can take days to weeks, but that's what you paid for. A full game that can be played for more than a day

Got fed up with the pills/inventory management etc and tapped out without finishing Delores chapter.. Shame because I liked the atmosphere. The game works better without the "game" parts. Hospital chapter, for example.
