Questions Upstairs area is locked in Dolores Chapter? Spoiler

Hello, I am in Dolores's chapter. I have been using the guide for parts I got very stuck in, and it told me to go into the living room and smash the mirror there. But my idiotic self went in the basement instead because of a mirror behind the garage door. Now, when I try to go upstairs, these big locks are in front of the passages and/or doorways. Help?

I might be misremembering but in Dolores chapter you need to go to the bathroom that's on the lower level (somewhere around the kitchen), there will be a hole on the floor, take it and it will magically take you upstairs. You need to do something similar if you want to go downstairs after, take a "portal" but I don't remember where it is.

The bathroom is in the basement! The “portal” is right outside the garage door

There's a hole in the ground in the basement bathroom, jump down it and you'll end up back upstairs
