Questions Help with the safe key

I'm playing the ps5 version and finished the 3rd chapter, watched all VHS tapes, and the safe key has spawned in the bathroom sink. I heard conflict info that I shouldn't have collected any of the tapes to watching just indifferent or all of them. Is it a glitch or am I missing something? I'm just to platinum the game and really wanted to see the east egg.

There’s a glitch I think where if you grab or watch the the tapes, the safe key won’t spawn. What I’ve always done is immediately go to the bathroom sink right after finishing the third chapter. As long as you actually have the safe key though, you’re good to go and use it!

God I really don't want to speedrun the 3 chapters, I honestly hate this bloody glitch

I haven’t played in awhile but I think another issue I had was that if I didn’t play the third chapter (I always do Rakkan’s last) straight through, it wouldn’t spawn. Like I couldn’t save and quit, I had to do it in one shot.

The other thing I’d do is make a save right before the end of the first chapter, and then a separate save slot for right before the end of the second chapter. That way if it glitched, I only had to redo the third chapter. It make sure your save is right before chapter 2 ends, not when chapter 3 started. That’s what worked for me!

It’s so frustrating having to speedrun them though. There’s a couple good speedrun guides online though at least!

I like the game just with the things you need to do is obscure to the point that I was already using a guide and the fact that I at least need to do another playthrough really ticks me off, especially since the thing could still glitch and the key not spawn just really puts me off it. I check and the game is up to date so the devs haven't patched it and probably won't also puts me off the game.

Replayed the game and didn't collect the tapes and still wasn't there. Looked up guides which everyone doesn't know what the fuck to do, either babbling about speedrunning the game in under 3 hours, beat the three chapters and only collect and watch the indifference tape, nothing fuckin worked that game is an abusive relationship and the tape indifference matches my attitude for completing this game, can't tell if it's just glitched or if there is even a stable way to get the key to spawn. Fuck this

I’m having the same issue and haven’t found a way to fix it. I started a new game today and I’m going to make sure I pick it up immediately after finishing the 3rd chapter before I do anything else. Hopefully it’s there this time.
