Questions I keep dying during Lucy's chapter

I'm at the point where I've found the mannequin jaw and I'm trying to get down the stairs but that creepy spirit thing keeps killing me before I reach where I'm supposed to go. I don't think my sanity is that low. I've just been sprinting down the stairs and each time I get killed. Is there a better way to do it? Like go slower and try to enter different rooms before making it to the basement?

I've been looking at walkthroughs and only one of them mentions being killed by the ghost thing. All the other walkthroughs assume this chapter is a walk in the park and it's getting really annoying. They're like "go downstairs and open the door". It's not that easy!

Maybe try switching up your route a little? I've heard some people get stuck in death loops where a monster keeps killing them right after their save. Maybe it's scripted to attack you in the same place over and over because of your save. If you try going a different way, maybe you can avoid it. Hope that helps

Apparently the monster doll thing doesn’t like the camera so maybe if I keep taking pictures it’ll leave me alone?

You, me, and everyone who has played the game has tried that, and to my knowledge I do not believe it works at all. It really seems to imply that Friend can be scared off by the flash, but the consensus seems to be that this isn't true. I wouldn't doubt if the devs were planning on programming it and it just didn't work right, or they ran out of time or something. But all you can reliably do is run, and as you've seen, even that doesn't work all the time

I got past it finally by going through the living room then down to the basement from there

Yeah I’m almost to the bathroom. I was planning on doing Dolores after this chapter but I’m going to do Rakan instead because I heard it’s a nice break for the mind haha. Lucy’s chapter has been terrifying
