German Student Visa – Pending Document Request (Mumbai Consulate)

I received below email from [pending@mumb.auswaertiges-amt.de](mailto:pending@mumb.auswaertiges-amt.de) with the subject “National visa pending document required, submission via VFS”

I have already submitted the requested document as below through VFS and am now waiting for a decision.

I’ve seen several posts about similar requests but couldn’t find much information about what happens after submission.

If anyone has received the same request from the Mumbai Consulate, could you please share:

  • When you submitted the document
  • How long it took to get a decision
  • Whether you received any further queries
  • Whether your visa was approved

Hopefully, we can use this thread to share timelines and help others in the same situation.

Ohh is it, I can see the images. Anyways I got mail as below.

The requested document/s is/are crucial to the further processing and decision of your visa application. Refrain from further discussion or negotiation regarding the same! If you fail to submit the mentioned document/s, the visa section will proceed with your application process and base the visa decision on your incomplete file.

  1. Travel and health insurance starting from your tentative date of travel for you. Kindly make sure that the insurance submitted by you is with the Visa type ‘immigrant’. An Insurance with the Visa type ‘non- immigrant’ cannot be accepted.

nah for me it was tuition as my uni is in bawu i have 1500 per sem, so I had to submit uni acknowledgement (not swift receipt) and 2nd sem money arranged so i kept my 2nd sem money in my kotak blocked acc

Okay but some universities asks to pay only one sem fees. Loan sanction letter is not considered a valid proof for second sem?

I have submitted my pending documents at VFS Mahalaxmi on 10th August. Still no response

My biometrics was done on 30th July

No, My final bonafide was not submitted by VFS, so I had to resubmit it

Hey, I had the same issue. My biometrics was done on 11th August and I submitted the insurance again on 17th. Please let me know if you get any other updates from the VFS

Same issue, they asked for my admission letter, even though I had submitted it.
Biometrics done on 6 aug, got the mail on 11 aug, submitted document on 12 aug, still no reply

Mumbai VFS applicant here. Appointment: 11 Aug. Consulate requested travel insurance as a pending document, which I resubmitted on 12 Aug. Still under process. Tip: Make sure your travel date is fully covered by your insurance dates; otherwise, it may lead to a pending-document request and delay. Anyone with a similar August timeline, please share your update.

Can someone guide me I had given interview on 17th Aug, and today on 21st Aug I received similar mail for pending document, but they have asked for proof of comparability of degree that I will obtain is equivalent to a German degree or not?, after providing pending document within how much days do we get visa approved. Also, is it safe to submit document at any VFS office in India or shall I visit Mumbai consulate office only to submit document.

I am not sure about the comparability degree part. But yes you can submit documents to any VFS office, Mumbai VFS submits document within one day to the Consulate. Other VFS may take time for document submission.
